Services
I have a B.S. in Biology from the University of Santa Clara, an M.P.A. from George Washington University. My Ph. D. is from the University of Texas. Prior professional history includes teaching as adjunct faculty at the University of Texas in the Department of Educational Psychology.
Before moving to Austin in 1983, I lived in Washington, D.C. where I was an LBJ Congressional intern, worked on several political campaigns, and for the Overseas Private Investment Corporation - putting together developmentally-appropriate joint ventures between U.S. businesses and counterparts in developing countries.

Dr. Farmer obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University. She received a Master of Science degree in Biology and a Master of Arts degree in Behavioral Science from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. During medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Dr. Farmer served on the Honors Education Committee and received the Mu Delta Honorary Medical Society Senior Medical Student of the Year award.
I have a Ph. D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and I am Board Certified in Clinical Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. I am also a Fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Psychology. I provide a wide range of clinical services including psychotherapy and assessment.
Many insurance policies require pre-authorization for services. Some insurance policies do not provide coverage for mental health services. There are requirements for the subscriber and the provider including differences in deductibles, co-pays, number of visits, or out-of-network benefits.

For information or to set up an appointment, please call our office during regular business hours. APA clinicians, individually, are providers for numerous managed care, EAP, HMO, and PPO plans. However, some do not accept insurance at this time - check with your insurance company or with office staff to determine if a provider accepts your insurance.
