Services
Bunions are due primarily to genetic factors, but can become painful over time due to trauma, ill-fitting shoes and poor foot structure. What happens, is that the bone connected to the big toe starts to drift outward pushing the big toe sideways into the other toes which can also lead to painful hammertoes, corns and calluses.
During the first visit, we make sure to obtain important background information, like your medical history, and give you time to get to know your doctor. We accept most insurances. I had plantar fasciitis (diagnosed by another podiatrist) and went through many months of treatment to no avail. I decided to seek a second opinion and had the fortune of meeting Dr Katherine Lai. She was patient, knowledgeable and caring, and I underwent Tenex surgery which made a huge difference to my condition. Combined with physical therapy, I am 97% back to normal and can go back to working out like I used to! I continue to visit Dr Lai for routine checkups and she always takes the time to listen to my concerns.

Dr. Katherine Lai is a life saver!!!
I had bunions + arthritis in one of my big toes. The solution that other doctors gave me was to fuse my toe. I heard very scary stories of people who had fused their toes, so for me that was not a solution at all.
I always heard that bunion surgeries were terribly painful and that you couldn't walk for months, so I was terrified! Thanks to that information I procrastinate the surgery for years.
Dr. Lai took her time with me, educated me and talked me through step by step on what she was going to do.

My experience has been excellent for many years. Dr Geldwert is an incredibly good specialist who has prevented 2 surgeries by using custom orthodics. As a lifelong runner the orthodics overcame pain to allow me to continue running. Also my wife had an excellent experience with surgery by Dr Lei .

Dr. Geldwert is an expert at making Orthotics.
After 25 Years I bought another pair. Expensive, but worth his expertise. He has helped me tremendously without surgery.
He taught at Mt SINAI. And has an excellent background and experience.
My mother and husband feel the same. He is outstanding and we are lucky to have him as one of our health providers.

For a very busy office, there was not a very long wait, the staff at the desk were always pleasant and friendly. The x-ray technician couldn't have been nicer or more knowledgeable. Dr. Straus is terrific. His experience is evident through his questions, careful diagnosis, and thoughtful consideration of my activity level and lifestyle when prescribing treatment. Excellent experience all around, and now I'm walking around pain-free after months and months of terrible discomfort and pain.

Purchased a special to have both feet treated for fungus with laser. Saw the podiatrist first who confirmed the diagnosis. Laser treatment was thoroughly explained and I consented to treatment. I found the laser a little uncomfortable because it does heat up the toe nail. I had to let the technician know when she needed to leave one toe and give it a rest to cool down. I purchased the fungal cream and used as directed. I had the infection for several years before treatment. It was resolved within 3 months (you have to continue to use the cream after laser treatment and also spray your shoes & change

I saw Dr. Katherine Lai. She was very through in explaining how to treat the bone spurs on the top of my right foot. I had out patient surgery in January of 2015 to remove the bone spurs and subsequent physical therapy. I am happy to report that I can now wear normal shoes again. I have recommended Dr. Lai to many friends. I was very pleased with the treatment and results.

I made an appointment with Dr. Katherine Lai because I suddenly had a strange growth on one foot. While it looks like a callus, I was sure it was not as it kept coming back. This was my first time seeing this doctor. The wait was very long. She is very busy so the place was crowded. They give you a memo letting you know there will be an additional $30 fee for online access to your records. When I finally see my doctor, I explain to her that I am concerned. She seems like she is a rush and spends 5-10 minutes on me max. She tells me it looks like a blister under a callus. I tell her I don't think

I came for orthotics and knee pain. The office staff forgot to phone me and sent me to the wrong office to pick them up. It was a time-consuming mess and the orthotics were never made properly. After 6 months, I finally left with a pair which doesn't fit well but, since my insurance paid after the first visit, I was stuck. During the endless wait, I went to another doctor who saw me 2x and made an excellent pair of orthotics for less money and too a total of 5 weeks to do it all. The knee pain was never resolved - I didn't have the stamina to pursue it. The dr. was very sweet & seemed knowledgeable
