My name is Karen Speck. I live in Thurmont, Maryland with my husband and our sons. My desire to work with children and to be home with my children are why I have chosen to be a family child care provider. I became a registered family child care provider in 1991. I provide quality care in an environment where children can learn and grow in a loving and nurturing setting.
I enjoy working with children and seeing their day to day successes. I help prepare the children in my care to be ready when they enter kindergarten. I do this by continually attending the latest child care education classes to stay up to date and be the best provider for the children in may care which include many experiences that will prepare them to have success in their abilities to learn.

The philosophy of Ms. Karen's Family Child Care is based on the understanding that children need a safe and secure environment where they can succeed and be appreciated for their uniqueness. I support the theory that play is the foundation for a child's learning. I will supply the materials for play and guidance necessary to help each child grow and thrive.
