Our practice is owned and lead by Dr. Steven Schiffenhaus & Dr. Alex May - leaders and educators in Biomimetic Restorative Denistry. We believe in a comprehensive approach to Biomimetic Restorative Dentistry - while we are happy to deliver what you need to stabilize your oral health we also like to give you the big picture of both long term planning to reduce the over all cost of dental work through out your life by getting you past stabilized to optimal oral health.
Biomimetic Dentistry is a type of Adhesive Dentistry that uses the natural tooth as the model to restore. Biomimetic Dentistry utilizes the flexibility of modern bonding agents to restore with a minimally invasive approach - because we can bond to the tooth we can preserve much more healthy tooth structure that may be otherwise removed in order to gain mechanical retention of our restorations with traditional approaches.
The Overlay, also known as the "crown-lay", "occlusal veneer", "partial coverage crown", and sometimes "Onlay" - can be considered the modern adhesive alternative to the full crown preparation. At our practice, the only time we place full coverage crowns is to replace existing ones. An overlay is a minimally invasive restoration used in place of a full coverage crown for most of the same indications.
Why would anyone want "slower dentistry"? How can that be a good thing? Most people don't enjoy being worked on, me least of all, and like most people can't wait to get out of the chair. But I, like most of my patients, would prefer the dentist take the time he/she needs to get the job done right, to get a high quality result that will last as long as possible.
At SofTouch Dental you can receive a ceramic crown, overlay, onlay, and/or veneer in a single visit. This is made possible by our Cerec. Cerec is type of CAD-CAM system. CAD-CAM has been around in dentistry for a few decades now, and has gotten better every year. The traditional way of receiving a permanent ceramic restoration takes two visits.

My husband and I were very fortunate some ten plus years ago to decide to go to Soft Touch Dental. For us having each multiple issues we were able to get every issue taken care of. With so many people moving to the Gilbert area be assured that this office which is in the Safeway shopping center at Higley and Baseline is just as good as you can get from the Dr and his entire staff.

I've been coming to Softouch Dental for a few years now! My husband initially found them and then recruited me to ditch my other dentist and start going here. Now our entire family comes to Softouch. Everyone in the office is so professional and friendly and they always remember your name... whether is the receptionist, the hygienist or the doc -- you can expect to be treated well on every single visit and be on a first name basis with the team. Dr Schiffenhaus is amazing! He pays attention to detail, and does everything he can to preserve as much original tooth structure and enamel as possible. I highly recommend him! I trust him and have had a great experience each time. He did a really nice job on my front teeth and am so happy with my smile. The staff is also super friendly and helpful.

I was not disappointed with their dentistry services so they get 2 stars instead of 1. I went to my appointment in July and they notified me when I arrived that they don't take my insurance anymore. They explained that I would have to pay for the visit and they would submit the bill to my insurance who would reimburse me. They also said they would cover anything the insurance didn't reimburse to me. I went back to get my $177 and they said they cannot reimburse me and no one should have told me that. Shame on me for believing/trusting what was said. I get that. However, bigger shame on them for

The front desk staff was personable and friendly. The hygienist was nice, skilled and professional. The Doctor was very accommodating and a real gentleman. He saw I was 8 months pregnant and made sure my chair was not to far back to save me from any discomfort. It made me feel at ease, it was at that moment I realized I was in good caring hands.

Yesterday I went in the office for my first visit and I had a great experience. Pam the dental hygienist was so nice and cleaned my teeth, she answered all my questions and was very informative. Definitely will be coming back to this dentist for my regular cleanings and anything else needed. I’ll be recommending this dentist to everyone :)

I would highly recommend! Everyone was very friendly from the moment I stepped in the door. They went above and beyond to fit me in for emergency work the same day since I was going out of town for the holidays. Dr. Schiffenhaus was amazing! He has incorporated the most up to date technology in his office. He made a permanent crown in his office while I waited. Gone are the days of molding, temporary crowns and multiple office visits! I was truly impressed with this office and would highly recommend.

I have been going here for many years. Both Pam and Colleen have always taken very good care of me. The practice recently changed hands and now the dentist is Dr. Schiffenhaus. He is very personable and honest. By far my favorite dentist I have had. These guys are great, they treat you like family everytime you go in and really care about their patients.

Once again, Dr. Schiffenhaus came through in a pinch! My teenage daughter was in pain, and we suspected her wisdom teeth were the problem. I placed a call and was able to get an appointment within 48 hours. After a great exam and cleaning, we received a consult and a referral to a local oral surgeon who can extract her wisdom teeth. We've found our trusted family dentist!

To start off, I am TERRIFIED of dentists and I am so happy I came here.
I accidentally stumbled upon Softouch dental while looking for an emergency dentist. Thank god I found them! Their customer service was amazing and they were able to book me an appointment the next afternoon. I was in such excruciating pain that night from an awful toothache, that I showed up the next morning with tears in my eyes and they took me right in!

I hate to have to leave a negative review, but I depend on reviews when I'm looking for a new dr or dentist and I'd want as much info as possible.
My husband and I both loved Softouch Dental. The staff was super friendly and helpful, we liked the hygienists and Dr. Bailey was nice and easy to talk to. Owner called me wanting to know if there was anything they could do at Softouch to improve my experience, he suggested that I could come in for the Cleaning that I was expecting at no additional charge. He explained they are reviewing how & why this happened. After a short conversation an understanding that I found another Dental Office and was not coming back the Owner offered me a Refund - I got the check yesterday. Some people do care about what we have to say on Yelp!!
