Where do I even begin, love every bit of this underated quaint cafe that's Hungarian family owned and run. I'd say one of if not the best burger in Sarasota IMO! (Not no regular American cheeseburger) Continuous rotating specials that are made with what's fresh that week, the chef is an amazing cook.
He said it best everything is on the menu because it's spectacular and made with care/ love. Great place for a brunch/lunch outing with friends/ family or grabbing a nice dinner with a date, if you come on Friday nights they have a violinist that's spectacular. I was looking for a local/mom and pop place to have dinner last night.

Great stop
I stopped in for breakfast a few minutes after they had opened. That gave me my choice of tables, I opted for one outside. With the threat of Covid rising again, I felt very safe outside on this somewhat breezy day. Road noise and piped music were my audio companions this morning.
My very pleasant server, who seated me, headed right off to get me coffee while I looked over the menu. They had a few house specialties listed on the menu and even had a special Benedict this morning. I decided instead on The Brave One, an omelette made with bacon, a homemade sausage (excellent), jalapeno

My mom and I visited Sunnyside Cafe for a lunch break during our trip the the Ringling Musuem. It is a short 5 minute drive from the museum and is definitely worth visiting for a meal or drink. We order the Mahi Mahi tacos and sunnyside burger. Both meals were delicious and I wouldn't hesitate to order them again. The staff was super friendly and very helpful with ordering and checking on us throughout the experience. My only complaint was with the cappuccino since it was made by an automatic machine.

We love Breakfast here, best pancakes in Sarasota....we were looking forward to our first dinner & it was a big disappointment.
My fish & chips had a strange oil flavor & no flavor, my wife, didn't eat here scallops and risotto.... Then the violinist arrived and play, 3 feet from our table & conversation was impossible. Not an enjoyable dinner.

We enjoyed our breakfast/brunch at Sunnyside Cafe, though there was a wait and service was a bit slow. If you come during a peak time and have the time and patience, then I think this place is worth it. I can't comment on the dinner service where they offer more adventurous and high-end items like foie gras and bone marrow, but for breakfast and lunch, this is a simple cafe that serves classic American comfort food.
We were flying out of nearby Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) and had about 1.5 hours to kill. Sunnyside Cafe is only about a mile from the airport. I saw it had

My friend and I tried to go to this restaurant. We sat outside waiting to be called. Next thing I know people that came in after us were being seated. The hostess them looks at me and says "I called you 3 times! Everybody heard me!" I had literally witnessed every interaction since the moment I sat down and never was my name called. I decided to message the owner before posting my review and he tells me that I was called and maybe I don't understand foreign accents. I was watching the door so there is no way I missed the hostess even if she were to mispronounce my name. I'm

We found this awesome little cafe just down the road from where we were staying in Sarasota. We are so impressed with everything here!! It was a little wait to get in but the hostess was WONDERFUL!! The people… here are AMAZING!! The food took a little while to get - BUT FOR GOOD REASON!! DELICIOUS!! And worth every Penny and minute waiting to get in here!! Food was made fresh to order with the BEST ingredients!! Little bowl of fruit was made up of a little bit of everything and I’m not talking about fruit you would get at other places, this had blueberries strawberries, apples, cantaloupe

Food is made fresh and is delicious and staff is very kind. The place is busy, and for good reason. Good food, nice vibe and great staff. The prices are decent, though I'd pay more for bigger portions. I had their signature eggs Benedict. Tee seals toon was wonderful. Try the Mote, with pineapple and tropical fruit flavors in a beautiful fuchsia color. Smelled and tasted awesome. Other than bigger portions this place is perfection.

Maybe it's the fresh sea breeze scent or the hunger from driving three hours, anyway you look at it, Sunnyside Cafe is worth the stop.
We arrived on a Sunday afternoon after a drive from South Florida to grab some lunch. Not a lot of seating available, so we grabbed a seat on the bench outside and were seated within 10 minutes. They have indoor and about 3 tables outside.
I ordered a Bloody Mary with a Lox platter. The lox plate was delish with goat cheese instead of traditional cream cheese. The salmon is home cured and tasted fresh. My husband ordered the open faced omelette (he is doing

Since writing my initial review, I have come to this restaurant many times including bringing out of town guests. The owner is the chef and makes delicious food for all three meals and I have noticed some Hungarian choices that I hope to try soon!
We have actually only dined her for breakfast which is consistently delicious!! The eggs Benedict is the best I have ever had and they have several choices for which to choose.
My husband most often has the lobster roll. If you have any family members who are vegan there are several unique choices for them as well!!
You can sit inside or outside.

Such a great find! Don't let the surroundings of the restaurant deter you from giving this place a try. We have gone for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast has multiple options from indulgent to healthy. Portions are perfect size. The things we have tried tasted extremely fresh and delicious. The only thing that we tried and didn't like was their coffee. We are black coffee drinkers so we really notice if coffee is good or not so good. Without the use of sugar or cream you can't disguise the taste.
Service has been friendly and accommodating! They made a kids meal for our three year
