Elizabeth Street Cafe is an escape from the ordinary. As chef/owners Larry McGuire and Thomas Moorman have proven at Lamberts and Perla's, dining out isn't just about being well fed, it's about being transported. The little restaurant boasts sunny dining rooms and a shady garden patio and serves fresh breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner as well as takeout.
Elizabeth Street Cafe is known for: great croissants & Stumptown coffee, banh mi served on fresh baked baguettes, fresh spring rolls, Kronenberg on tap, steaming bowls of pho, spicy curries, house cocktails & fruity boozy punch, a fun kids menu, and tropical macarons. ESC is a McGuire Moorman Hospitality restaurant.

Came for dinner on a Friday and was pleasantly surprised to hear I was just in time for happy hour (4-6pm). They had both food and drink deals. I had a pork spring roll at happy hour price. I was torn between that and all the other roles but the waitress made a recommendation including the chicken thigh and meatball pho. She didn’t lead me astray although while the pork spring roll was tasty, I’d probably try a different one next time. The pho though was another story. It was so flavorful and every bite put me in a happy place. I wish the bowl hadn’t been so big because I was really hoping

Last Saturday night, a group of friends and I visited Elizabeth Street Cafe in Austin, Texas.
I have been to Elizabeth Street Cafe many times during my 12 years of living in Austin, and it is one of my favorites for Sunday brunch.
However, I had a friend in town that I wanted to impress, so I made an Opentable reservation for dinner, which I needed to do about two weeks in advance.
Seating is limited, and we were able to get an inside table for five people (The hostess was very accommodating when I needed to change my reservation last minute from 2 people to 5 people. That was fantastic).

Ordered for pickup. Everything was packaged well and ready on time. The two Pho we ordered were great although they kinda skimped on the noodles. Ingredients were fresh/high quality. The one dish that was pretty bad was the grilled pork rice vermicelli plate. The grilled pork was drier than the Sahara and lacked flavor. I would not recommend it. The pho is definitely the thing to get.

I’m very confused. With so many reviews that are perfect or near perfect, I had Elizabeth Street Cafe on my list for a long time. I was in the area and excited for a visit and the timing was perfect for happy hour. We ordered the shady blonde punch which literally came in a pho size bowl but was filled with mostly ice that water downed the cocktail. The escargot was great, buttery and cooked perfectly. A slice of bread, some fresh herbs and the escargot makes for a spectacular bite. Leftover butter is perfect for dipping! We got two spring rolls, the spicy crunchy chicken is a must! The steak

Interesting place- went for brunch and parking is practically nonexistent- plan accordingly. Had a reservation and was seated at a communal table- not my favorite. It took over twenty minutes to get drinks... food arrived timely and was tasty. Glad to have tried it, but not on my list of places to try again.

What the Pho is going on here. One hour and we are still waiting for our delicious pho to sho. As of now...the pho is a no sho. Chanting has begun. Mo Pho! Mo Pho! It came!! It's here! So so so flavorful. Worth the wait. Not sure how to eat this with chopsticks. I'm making a pho out of myself! Time to pho er go.

I've been checking out Elizabeth Street café menu for several weeks waiting for an opportunity to visit Austin. Finally stopped in and what an amazing meal we had. First let me say the margaritas are excellent. I'm pretty picky about my margaritas and these were delicious. The Vietnamese wonton soup was spectacular although I would've liked to have had a few more wonton, The broth is so amazing I brought it home. They had so many delicious options and every bite was perfect. Definitely a must try. They have a wait so go early or sit outside and enjoy a cocktail while you wait for

The best escargot in the city, hands down. Try the carpaccio for sure as well. Love starting with the fried spring rolls and can't miss the flank steak bahn mi. It's all exceptional. The service is always friendly too which makes the experience all the more enjoyable. Pastries here are always on point too.

What a pleasure to eat here. It is aesthetically pleasing yet casual and welcoming. All of the food was nicely presented. I wanted everything on the menu so went with the server's recommendations. Spicy Chicken crunch roll, fried egg and pork belly ban mi, fried rice with ribeye and ginger-chili oil dumplings. Everything was a hit. It came out perfectly timed to share each dish. The ribeye was tender and full of flavor. A couple things were perfectly salted: they weren't salty just well salted-that is an art in my book.
The chocolate bouchon was dense and not very sweet- great end to

Amazing ambiance and atmosphere. Interesting and tasty food and drink menu. Service was great, but we did have to wait an additional 10-15 minutes after our reservation was supposed to start because the party before us was still there...the staff seemed uncomfortable about asking them to leave despite the party being there for "over three hours." I thought that was a little odd.
The food was delicious, but I do think it is a bit overpriced for how much food you get. There's a lot of "filler" -- ie, the dumplings we ordered were delicious, but half of the plate was filled

Well, the Maguire Moorman group are no strangers to making great restaurants and this one is no exception. If you are a fan of the flavors of Vietnam, you will be right at home here. The french pastries also very good. I recommend the fried spring roll. Their carpaccio is a different take on the dish that you have definitely never had and is amazing. The Singapore Noodles are amazing and the Bahn Cuon will knock your socks off. All of the bahn mi are excellent as well. Go!

Absolutely worth a visit, and was certainly worth a little wait (appx 40min, Saturday 4:15pm-ish) to eat at this clever & charming cafe.
Haley hooked it up w/ several great recommendations, incl. the Pork Meatball Bahn Mí, which was surprisingly light & satisfying. The bread was perfectly soft but w/ a crisp exterior. The red wine, a humble blend that mellowed the spices from the sand-o.
Had the Pot de Crème, which was more of a caramel-fudge style, rather than the chiffon whip situation one might find. Very sweet, like a Snickers. I couldn't quite finish it - you could def split it w/ a friend

Beautiful little spot for brunch. They are hard to get into, but worth the wait in my opinion. We ordered wine and cocktails and grabbed a seat outside for the hour wait. It was not an hour though. Parking is scarce. You can give your number and they'll text you if you want to walk around.
The menu is intriguing with enough options for everyone in your party. We had two carnivores and two vegans. So many options. Our server was lovely and told us about two vegan items not on the menu. A crepe with mushrooms and tofu and a bun with avocado and tofu. Both delicious. Other reviews say this

Elizabeth Street Cafe is so pretty! The ambiance is so cozy and beautiful. A nice and simple set up.. I ordered the fried spring roll appetizer which came with a very large and random pile of lettuce and cilantro w/ no dressing??? For the main dish I ordered the Elizabeth Street Fried Rice ($25) and Cha Ca Red Fish ($20). The fish was definitely old and my rice was hard and undercooked. The whole plate was inedible, sadly.
The service was great which is why I am giving two stars but they need a new chef, better menu and or fresh ingredients. Nothing tasted fresh (not even the pastries) the

Wow- as first time visitors, my husband and I loved this spot! We tried the 10A (spring rolls), the 55, and the Bún with pork! I really enjoyed all of the flavors and the atmosphere was so cute. Definitely recommend! Don’t be afraid to try something out of your comfort zone, and always ask for recommendations!

This place is a great little joint to visit in Austin. Good service and delicious food. I was super pleased with the spring rolls, I tried chicken and beef and both were delicious! The sauces that come on the side each bring their own personality and flavors which adds some variety which I love.
I tried the pork belly bahn mi which had fried egg and mint and a special sauce, it was so flavorful and exciting with the different flavors.
I went at night but would definitely visit again in the day time and go for some Vietnamese coffee!

The online ordering process is seamless! They have spots to park when you arrive for curbside pickup where you just text them that you are there and which spot you are in. I haven't eaten inside yet but can attest to the curbside pickup option as being great!
My weakness here is the banh mi. It's very good. You should also grab the daily macarons when you visit! A must in Austin.
