I rented from Barzell for two years. I have dealt with numerous rental companies in the Columbia area and Barzell was the best I have rented from by far. They are reasonable on rent prices, reasonable with lease terms, and overall not intrusive and easy to deal with. Highly recommend Barzell for anyone looking for a reasonable landlord that is willing to be of assistance with any needs you may have.

Super great price for proximity to campus and downtown. The one bedroom apartment I am currently renting is very spacious for one person. Maintenance is nice and attentive. I had an oven that stopped working and they replaced it within less than a week! When I was first looking at their apartments, management was always quick to email back and willing to show different apartments multiple times. If they have any open apartments and you're looking for a 1-3 bedroom, definitely consider renting with Barzell.

Their apartments are cheap, but it's not worth the price. They are very unprofessional and their places are run-down. The management always seems to be annoyed. They are always fixing something in the apartment complex. When an intruder came on several occasions, they were unhelpful and unsympathetic. The police, on the other hand, were very helpful. I would rather live under an interstate bridge than this apartment. It would probably be cleaner and safer. If a friend asked me whether they should live here, I'd say DO NOT RENT BARZELL!!!!

Do NOT rent from these people. My apartment is horrible but I tolerate it because it is so close to campus. I have bugs (so, so many bugs), no water pressure, a very loud fridge, my AC makes terrible noises, huge potholes in the parking lot, which is occasionally completely full, forcing me to park in a university lot. When I first moved in my apartment HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED. Mold in the shower, filthy floors, residue in the oven, dusty blinds and dirty windows, and smelled like cigarettes and pot. They will use any excuse to squeeze more money out of you. For example, I was out of town the first

Never before, not by Wal-Mart or any other business, have I been treated with such blatant disrespect. The Landlord knows we are students and is interested in little more than collecting our money. Her assistant, and main point of contact, is insufferable. She's the type of person who will knowingly be inconsiderate just to establish their dominance in a situation. She shows up unannounced for showings all the time and took it personally when I asked her to call ahead.
