TwiningVine Winery
No outside alcohol, coolers, large groups, buses or limos. Founded in 1948 in the East Bay, the tradition continues today. Welcome! Must be 21 or older to taste and/or purchase wine. Come join us for wine tasting at Castro Valley's only estate winery. We offer outdoor wine tasting where guests experience outdoor wine tasting under the oak tree or on the patio of our historic barn.

We grow and produce our own grapes which has provided our winemaker the freedom to create a very diverse selection of wines. You might be surprised, but we have dry farmed our vineyards since 2008. Generally, TwiningVine Estate Winery is open for wine tasting the 2nd and 4th weekend of each month in March -September from 12:00-4:30pm.
Services
2003 is is a boutique family winery nestled on 10 acres surrounded by the rolling hills and forest land of Cull Canyon. Originally a sawmill took residence on the property and overtime the land transitioned to cattle and horse ranches. The circa 1880's "Red Barn" still stands which was constructed with square nails and redwood.

It's a little chilly, but they have patio heaters. I really like this beautiful winery in the Castro Valley. The Rose' was delicious and paired well with my fig jam, toasted sourdough, and strawberries. The Cab/Merlot blend was delicious with my Mitica Drunken Goat cheese from Whole Foods. The Cab Franc paired with kalamata olives! It was on point. I can't wait for the Chardonnay release. Please note as of today they are opened during the below times:
2nd and 4th weekend of each month in April-September from 12:00-4:30pm.
October-March they are open for wine tasting the 2nd weekend

Not a local, drove all the way out here to visit
Closed, it's on a windy beautiful backroad thank god my cousin lived close and it wasn't stuck in horrendous traffic but it was busy. Come to find out it's open something like every 2nd weekend of each month! Be warned before you go! Know the timeframe of it being open.

Took a huge chunk out of my day, but o made lemonade with lemons.

Initially I looked for hours and just found myself very disappointed.

What a wonderful winery!! I can't imagine how anyone could give them under 5 STARS!! Twiningvine is the BEST winery in Castro Valley hands down. The wines and staff are wonderful!! I highly recommend you come out and experience this gem of a winery for yourself. Make sure to check out the website for the days they are open because they are not open every weekend

I really wanted to like the wines because they are in our backyard. At the fall festival we tried the Merlot and Chardonnay. Both wines were not smooth. They were very rough tasting. I wasn't even able to finish my glass. Hopefully next year will be better.

We hosted a rehearsal dinner here tonight for my sister and all the guests were raving about the beautiful ambiance and excellent wines! From the beginning, the owners were responsive to my e-mails and phone calls and were flexible with tailoring the event to our needs. The grape vines, rolling hills and beautiful evening made for instagram-worthy photos.

We were here Friday night for a play put on by non-profit Plethos Productions. First, props to the winery for making themselves available for that - so great that they support the arts. Second, what an incredibly friendly crew. Everyone was so welcoming. Third, we loved the wine. I had the chardonnay, my husband had the red blend, both of us were happy. Fourth, lovely outdoor setting. Plenty of parking, tables, vines, bocce ball and horseshoe pits. Tastings are complementary, so there is NO REASON not to try them out.

Wow, what a great little winery right here in Castro Valley. We stopped in on a rainy Saturday and had a really good time and brought a couple of bottles home. Of the wines we tasted, the 2012 Tuscan was fantastic and paired great with red sauce pasta with fresh Parmesan. We're local so we'll definitely be back and will bring friends.

This winery is a must stop. Wonderful wines at a great price! The tasting itself is free and you can buy glasses or bottles to drink there and bottles to bring home. Beautiful setting right in the vineyard with a bocce ball court and horseshoe pit. We took a stroll around after finishing the wine and didn't want to leave. Definitely going to be a regular stop.

Plant Nite brought me here and I loved the Chardonnay and Rose' so much it might be the reason I return. This quaint winery is hidden in the hills of Castro Valley which means cell service is non existent (at least for ATT, Sprint and TMobile users) so be prepared to unplug and enjoy the wine, good company and the outdoors. Ladies save the heels for another day, the gravel, rocks and dirt aren't a good match. Tons of great photo ops in the vines or with the big red barn as your backdrop.

TwiningVine is such a hidden gem in Castro Valley and only a 20 minute drive from the Dublin/Pleasanton area. They only open on the 2nd and 4th weekend of the month, less any special event. The weekend we went they also had a flower bouquet class on the back side. They say parking can be a problem but there seem to be enough on both sides of the winery. It's one way drive deal. They do not have a tasting room but hope to make one soon, for now they have a tasting bar set up under a tent in front of the barn with nice lounge chairs and tables. There is no tasting fee. Yay! So if you come here

What a hidden gem! Tucked away is this gorgeous space with delicious and well priced wines! The team here was very accommodating to our large group and allowed us to have a perfect Sunday afternoon! The wines are decently priced and you can bring your own food to enjoy with the wines! Thanks again to the team here and happy birthday to the TwiningVine resident dog, Merlot who was celebrating her 17th birthday!

I have to give HUGE thanks to Teddy and the Twiningvine crew for an AMAZING day! About 20 of my dearest friends wanted an excuse to spend time together, and it's hard enough to set a date let alone find a place to accommodate us--and of course we throw something together last min (2 days to plan!) I made tons of phone calls to the more known wineries only to get ridiculous prices or the run around to call 3 other people (some not very nice). I took the leap and did a yelp search and stumbled upon this page. Gave it a shot and Teddy called me back within a few hours. She was soooo easy to

Came in for a tasting on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Lovely location tucked in the hills--very serene. The free outdoor wine tasting was generous and some of the wines were truly unique. The staff encouraged us to try wines that weren't on the tasting list and to re-try wines that we liked. Happily left with a reasonably-priced bottle.

Who would have thought that minutes from civilization is this hidden gem. Some of the nicest people you will ever meet pouring some of the best wine. This little winery produces an incredible amount of varietals such as chardonnay from a steel vat, cabernet, zin, super tuscan, Sangiovese and some fantastic blends and get this for free !
