I used to live in St. Louis and visited Pietro's often. Now that I live three hours away I hardly ever get to go. But this past week I was in St. Louis and of course stopped in. We told the waitress that we came from Peoria and the owner himself delivered us free toasted ravs for coming back. He is such a nice man and the food is top notch and very reasonably priced!

Always welcoming. Good old fashioned Italian food with great service. Plus being able to walk to the end of block to get there makes it the perfect go to place.

This is our favorite restaurant in St. Louis. We drive 45 minutes from home to get there. Family owned. Wonderful staff. You get to see the same people each time--low turnover--so you get to know them and they know you. Food is delish. I love the beef medallions.

We were a group of-eleven- sorry twelve later. They didn't bat an eye but sat is almost as soon as we arrived even though it was a busy lunch hour. Service still shines! Oh, and the food was excellent. They've increased their prices as all restaurants have these days but the jump up was very reasonable and justified unlike other places. It's still an excellent value as it has always been!

I had the special of the day. Fettuccine with a zesty tomato sauce and grilled shrimp. Added to it the soup of the day, cheddar broccoli. The soup was tasty without being too rich. The pasta was out of this world. The sauce was light but full of flavor covering perfectly cooked fettuccine. The grilled shrimp were tender and covered with a very light breading. One of the best, if not the best, Italian dinner I've ever had. Service was great too!

It was very busy when we came, but the staff managed everything like we were the only ones there. It was my daughter's and good friend's birthdays celebration, and we were treated extremely well.
Great roast beef sandwich and salad for me. Great wine and a birthday treat of spumoni for our desserts.
Chris, our waiter, was very attentive. The whole experience was exceptional.
We will be back.

My friends and I always enjoy eating at Pietro's! We've been coming here for years. The staff is friendly, they bring out bread and cheese/oil before meals to snack on. Everything is always very hot and fresh tasting. The wait staff is always very friendly and this place just makes you feel right at home. We love coming here!

Food was mediocre at best. My Alfredo was like soup. Our server stood at the server station, on his phone the entire time. We had to ask for everything, EVERYTHING. Silverware, plates for the bread, then he brought a total of 6 for two of us, had to ask for another drink, and the check, all by flagging him off his phone. Wine was served in dirty glasses with lipstick on them. Definitely the youngest people in there (mid 40's). And, it was rather expensive for such a unpleasant dinner. You'd think the server would ask why my entree wasn't consumed and why I did not want it to go

If you grew up in Dogtown, St Louis Hills or the Hill neighborhoods you went to Pietro's after a funeral. I have eaten more Grouper and Chicken there than I could count on all of my fingers and toes.
The service here is always good. The food quality is quite good for banquet style service. The meal always begins with a basket of Italian bread which is eagerly consumed by hungry patrons. The entrees are served table by table and they arrive fresh from the kitchen.
I have never come here for any occasion other than one of these events. I am not sure why. I need to make a point of visiting

I have been a long time patron and after my awful experience yesterday, will no longer return. I rdered 3 Pasta Rosa dishes and the chicken was chewy and quite frankly absolutely disgusting. I called to let them know and spoke with a worker and was told this had been an issue for some time. Today one of the managers called and would not issue a refund for the pastas. The customer service is terrible and I will not be back.

We eat here almost every time we are in St. Louis visiting family and again did not disappoint. Our waiter, Perry, was excellent and so was the special, the veal and the spinach balls. We picked up 2 bottles of their salad dressing to go. The place was full so go early and watch the crowd shuffle in!

Wow! So good! We've been searching for a solid neighborhood Italian place with a red sauce my Italian father likes. Pietro's has been sitting next to out vet just waiting for us for years. We finally made it in tonight and Dad said we'd be back. Excellent service, fantastic food, and decent prices all added up to an excellent evening. Based on the parking lot we thought there would be a wait, but it's deceptively large inside. We had a variety of entrees from the menu, and now I'm kicking myself for not ordering the special the waiter talked about. No worries, we will come

We ordered carry-out a few nights ago and I'm still dreaming about that Pasta Primavera and those fried artichokes. Holeee Moleee this food stole my heart. My mom loved her Cannelloni. I'm thinking we may never go to Favazza's again.

The food was pretty average, nothing really exciting. I had the veal saltimbocca with a side of mostaccioli. The highlight of my meal was the bread.

As far as service, we had a very attentive waiter. I went with a bigger party and he definitely made the effort to be a good server.

Pietro's gets what an Italian restaurant should be better than perhaps any restaurant on the Hill... and Pietro's isn't even on the Hill!

My experience was that Pietro's is a classic Italian restaurant with none of the weaknesses:
It's got all the Italian staples.
It's clean and open, yet intimate enough for a dinner date.
Music plays softly.
It's perfectly lit, in my opinion. Not so dark that you can't see the food, your partner, or the (spotless!) Silverware. Not so light that your eyes are tired.
The bar is classic, classy, just pleasing to the eye

I used to come here with my grandma when I was younger, so I thought of it for my birthday dinner for a classic Italian style meal.

To start with, I will say that the food was delicious, which is the only reason I'm giving this place two stars. My boyfriend and I started with the combo platter which was lightly breaded and served with a marinara sauce that was slightly sweet and herbaceous.

Our server, Marcia, however, was nothing but rude to us the entire time. I say to us, because there were people who were obviously regulars that she gabbed with at length. She was rude when she first

My friend and I came into Pietro's exclusively for pizza on a Friday night. We were able to be immediately seated and the hostess was friendly. The complimentary bread was a little blah, but overall not bad considering it was free.

We went for the deluxe St. Louis style pizza, and hot dang. I've never been a fan of St. Louis style, but this pi.- changed my mind completely. The crust was crispy, the sauce was delicious, and the toppings were balanced, with the perfect amount of cheese. Overall, it was perfect and I could have easily eaten a small by myself.

After pizza, we went for

We started our tradition of going to Pietro's for the October Wednesday night anniversary special back in 2010. It never disappoints. Tonight we had Mick, who has also served us previously. He was wonderful! He's friendly and attentive! He suggested the perfect wine to go with our meal. Karen has also served us in the past and she's amazing. I love that even on a busy night with discount prices the service and quality are still up to par. The owner (I think?) has always been present and helping out the staff, which I love to see. The hostess has been the same since we began going

Jimmy is the man. I love all the servers here, it's like home, except the people are nicer

I almost always get the special of the day and get a side of the cavatelli. The house salads are good and I love the dressing.

Casual atmosphere, nice patio and the bar area is chill with frosted glass windows so you can see to the dining area and vice versa. Really great place, my mom loved it (points for this kid)!

Three and a half stars actually. He liked it more than me. After passing by Pietros several times on our way to other places, we decided to go here for lunch after a morning of running errands. They have a great bar area and the restaurant is quite large. There was a private party going on in a back room. There is also a free parking lot. We were greeted, seated and given water and menus.

There was a special of the day. Steak covered in cheese with a red wine sauce. It came with a salad and a side dish. We both chose the pasta with red sauce as our side. By the way, our waiter was outstanding
