Dr. Singer earned his undergraduate degree from Queens College and received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 1981 from the California College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his surgical residency and then entered into private practice in Los Angeles, before coming to UCLA as part of the University Podiatry Group.
There are a variety of reasons why you may need to see a foot doctor. The musculoskeletal system of the feet, ankles, and lower legs involve many different parts that have to work together in unison to create smooth and pain-free movement. If any of these parts are not functioning properly, the whole system can suffer!
We ask that you please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. Please bring your insurance card, photo ID, and your co-pay. We are contracted through the UCLA Medical Group and our office accepts most insurance plans. Co-payments are due at the time of service. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover Card, checks, and cash.
Bunions are painful bone deformities in the big toe. When the toe is misaligned, the joint in the toe grows larger, creating a protuberance over time. These lumps can cause constant pain from rubbing against shoes, which in turn, irritates the joint resulting in a large bump. If treated early, bunions can be corrected.

I was told the cost of custom orthotics (since not covered by Medicare) would be 'around' $500. They also said it would take a few weeks to get them made. First, they just charged me the $500 up front, never confirming the price and said if I casted for them on my first visit it would be less turnaround time to get them made and available for pickup. So 3 weeks went by. I called them and was told that they weren't even sent out for another 8 days from the time I was casted. Their extremely poor excuse was that their office was closed the next day, and that the 'courier&apos

I've been a patient of Dr. Mejia at University Podiatry Group for more than 2 years. I see him every 2 months. He is kind and gentle and always answers any questions that I may have. I typically wait from 2-6 minutes for him to get to the treatment room where he examines and treats my foot condition.
His office and medical support staff are professionals. All my appointment days and times have been kept without any changes by the office or Dr. Mejia, I take the responsibility myself to double check my insurance coverage to be be sure that what the office has been told is correct I

This office cancelled twice on me and I had to reschedule which was inconvenient. The second time around I refused to budge and told them I'm going to go to a different office not any of the UCLA podiatry offices since they have as many bad reviews as this one.
The receptionist said ok. Is cancelling and having little regard for patients time a standard practice for this office? I think yes. The numerous calls from them and time changes is too much.
In a way after reading the billing issue reviews and the rudeness I side-stepped a minefield not having to deal with any more of this offices

I've seen Dr. Robert Lee (years ago, and he was very nice, and helpful). Recently, I saw Dr. Singer. He's been here (UCLA) forever (like me). He remembered me from my old nursing days and was as great and professional as always. I was super nervous because of my foot pain, and treatment, but he made everything as comfortable as possible. He's got a kind, mild demeanor and explained and discussed what he was doing, going to do during the appointment.
The front desk and back office staff are also lovely. They're efficient, and friendly. I haven't had to wait long for my

I saw Dr. Saieh Khademi-Davidson, DPM at the Santa Monica location. I really enjoyed her and thought she was thorough, knowledgable and kind. She is not the reason I am giving this Podiatry Group at UCLA a terrible review. I am writing this to warn you, if you do go there, to double check that they have actually authorized your account with your insurance. They said they did this for me when I needed an MRI, I had to wait a week to make the appointment until United Healthcare "authorized it". After going to the MRI, I got a bill for almost $3,000 saying that I was sent to an "out

Don't see dr snow! Dr lee wasn't in, so dr snow saw my kid and took off half of her toenail and was very rough. It wasn't necessary and took her weeks to recover and more. Her toe hasn't been the same since. When i got the bill, i realized why he was so aggressive. $$$$. Lesson learned...get a 2nd opinion and don't settle for second best.

First off. THESE ARE NOT UCLA DOCTORS! I was extremely disappointed to find this out after my visit to their office, but it totally explained the care that I got.
I have a bunion on my left foot to the point that the toes are turned in. It is very painful, so I went to this appointment knowing that I need surgery to correct it. I was told to take Advil and wear this sponge thing in my shoe until orthodontics could be ordered. Seriously? Did he look at the X-rays? Now let's not forget to mention the push for cortisone shots so the problem can be masked not fixed. I have a bunion that

Before I scheduled an appointment in this office I checked all reviews here on Yelp and all other reviews on the internet regarding this office.
Today , one month after my surgery, and two months after my first visit I have to say following:
This is a great office, with kind and helpful nurses. From the day one, back to January 22 until today March 23, 2018, I have visited this office 8 times. Each time I didn't wait more than 5 min. All nurses that I spoke with (5 of them) were extremely nice, kind and professional. They answered on all my questions and provided everything I requested.

9 years ago I had bunion surgery on my left foot with Dr. Robert K. Lee. I was a student a UCLA and the UCLA nurse at the student health center referred me to Dr. Lee. The nurse's younger brother also had bunion surgery with Dr lee years prior and the nurse told me he did a good job so I should go to him to have my surgery. I couldn't walk on my left foot not only because of the bunion but I also had a burning sensation on one spot on the bottom of my foot because my bunion. That skin was hard and red and it burned to walk on and then my bunion and bones hurt like hell.

I feel extremely lucky to have found Dr. Mejia. You can tell that he puts patient care first, always. He is efficient and takes the time to explain everything and answer all questions. I love that he sees patients on Thursdays at the office on 20th and Wilshire in Santa Monica which makes it very convenient. I called for an appointment and was able to be seen the next day at this location. I went in limping in pain from an ingrown toenail and walked out less than an hour later relieved and happy after a quick in-office procedure. It was a perfect experience and I highly recommend Dr. Mejia and

Dr. Lee is an amazing doctor/surgeon. I had bunion & hammerhead toe surgery, and after 6 weeks, there is almost no scar. The surgery was a success and almost pain free. I went back to work after 2 weeks. Dr. Lee is caring and attentive. His entire staff is wonderful. If I had known about Dr. Lee sooner, I would not have waited so long to have this surgery.

I was misled to believe it is part of UCLA, which it is NOT. There billing department really don't know what they are doing & wants to overcharge for everything.
They took insurance info on phone when I made the appointment, but when I reached there they told me they didn't accept my insurance. So I was on my way to another doctor on the building. They called me & told me they did accept it, so I went back to them.
After seeing the doctor, they took $200 for lab fees. I got a call the next day from them saying it would be $500 to make the custom insole as that was not covered

Guess I should've paid attention to the reviews of this place. I paid $500 for custom insoles (after insurance) under the promise I would get free insoles (after insurance) from my insurance coverage in ensuing years. I came in the next year to get my insoles and the office was happy to place the order. They billed me $1500 to simply outsource the order for the exact same insoles. These things are just plastic, so unclear how they cost $1500. In any event, insurance covers $1,000, and then UCLA podiatry comes chasing down the rest. I repeatedly call to complain and reach no one or get someone

Want a doctor to blow you off? Go see Dr. Robert K Lee!
I saw Dr. Lee in January of 2015 because I had pain in my big toes. Dr. Lee did not provide me with any diagnosis that I can recall, and his robust treatment regimen was as follows:
- Take 3 Advil 3 times a day for a week
- Wear better shoes
- "I can give you a cortisone shot if it gets really bad"
He did not recommend orthotics - customized or over the counter - of any kind.
I didn't come away feeling particularly empowered, but hey what do I know. I try the Advil thing, it makes me feel loopy, so I discontinue.

Billing SCAM. They tried to charge me out of pocket even though I'm covered under blue shield. They sent it to COLLECTIONS, then I call Blue Shield and find out they never even submitted my claim to my insurance. They did, however, call me and try to yell at me to try to get me to fork over the full amount. WHAT?!?! Never had this happen, and I've been to at least 5 podiatrists.

Dr Mejia is a reliable Podiatrist! He saved me from the general doctor's wrong advice!
When I went jogging one morning, I stepped on a hard nut on the sidewalk and twisted my ankle.
My primary doctor at UCLA Medical Group was out of town, so I was seen by Dr. Anne Arikian at the same medical office. When I told her what happened she said, "You have to start doing exercises." She demonstrated, standing up and down on tiptoes. She asked me to start doing it now. I told her I didn't want to. She also said to get a rubber stretch-band at Sav-On. She sat down on the floor and demonstrated

I'm unsure why there are so many negative reviews. I am a student at UCLA and was referred to here to Dr. Mejia. He has been an excellent podiatrist and surgeon. I have had both of my feet operated on and he went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable and healing properly.
The office is usually packed and the staff are friendly. I think there are many people who come here satisfied who don't review via yelp. I recommend Dr. Mejia! :)
