Hughes Manor

Had my wedding here in November of 2021. While the venue was beautiful, we did not receive the level of service and experience you would expect from a premium-priced venue.
Here is a run-down of everything that contributed to our negative feelings:
1. Due to covid, we had to reschedule our wedding twice. The first time was during the peak of covid where everyone was still in lock-down. Hughes had no covid policy defined even months after the lock-down and when we asked to change our date, they would not allow it up until 2 months before our date. Event I went to candlelight dinner. The music and atmosphere was great but food was so bad we returned it and went hungry until after show. Enchiladas were hard and cold. Nothing had flavor. The mole was hard and tempature was off. It seemed like the just have then in a buffet tray in a hot box until u order. We are still waiting on refund.

I love events here like the candle light concerts done by Feverup, which have excellent music & a classy feel.

Went here for a candlelit orchestra event I purchased on Fever. It was amazing. The venue had a calming ambience, the quartet was talented and captivating. I was a little bummed the event wasn't outside as originally intended due to chance for rain, but the music was still great nonetheless. The food and drinks were overpriced of course, but hey, when in Rome 😄 I'll definitely be checking out their other events.

Ok so, don't use the valet! I sat there at the gas station across the street where they park the cars. And what I witness is horrible! They were driving the cars really fast, parking the cars soooo close.. that they had to cross over the person front seats to get out!!!! I should have recorded all that I saw...sorry!

Came to see a Miles Davis tribute as part of the Candlelight Houston series. The venue was lovely and the weather was perfect for an outdoor performance. It was catered by Churrasco's and who can say no to that? The bartender made wonderful cocktails, was speedy and very friendly. Would absolutely love to go here again.

Qi Qi wanted to hear a string quartet. They played disney songs and they served food from Churascos. Qi Qi was loving the music and she ordered some empanadas and I had some chicken wings. Chocolate cake and trees leches. Qi Qi brought her loves of her life. Great time,

Honestly, Hughes Manor is easily the most amazing, beautiful, venue in Houston. They are one of the main reasons why my Wedding was described as the most “Magical” wedding my guests have ever been to. It was simply the feeling of being present in their beautiful courtyard ceremony area, to witnessing the dusk bring out the string lights that look like stars during cocktail hour, to the modern, yet warm; luxurious, yet romantic ambience inside their reception area. I am trying my best to describe it, but It was honestly nearly indescribable how beautiful it was.

Hughes Manor was the perfect place for our wedding on 2.24.2020. The space is perfect with both indoor and outdoor options. There were many amenities included in the price of the venue and the staff was attentive, professional and kind. The space itself is so beautiful it doesn't need too much decoration and has such a beautiful style. Kate and her staff were wonderful and I would highly recommend this space for your next event!

Beautiful Modern Venue! It was easy to design and plan with the staff. As a Wedding Planner It's extremely important to refer my clients to gorgeous and unique venues that are as accommodating as they are beautiful.

Hughes Manor was unbelievable during the entire process, especially Victoria. The ease of all the beforehand preparation was stress free and really enjoyable. The day of I could not believe how smoothly everything ran and the Hughes Manor staff checking in periodically. I have constantly been told by many guests that my wedding was the best they had ever been, and they can't wait to book Hughes Manor for when they get married!! I would 150% recommend Hughes Manor for the elegance modern feel that will take your event to the top!

I cannot possibly say enough good things about Hughes Manor and the wonderful people working there. Our wedding was scheduled for the Friday after Harvey hit, and the incredible ladies at Hughes (and Fabian!) worked 'round the clock to ensure everything still came together as planned. We hosted a charity event at Hughes Manor early April and it was amazing! The staff, especially Jillian, was always so helpful and willing to answer our every question - and believe me we had a lot! They were always so accommodating, helpful and extremely responsive. Our event was supposed to be outside but with bad weather, the staff made sure they could accommodate our guests and needs indoors. Everything went extremely well the day our event took place. I also have to add that any vendors recommended to us by Hughes Manor were also exceptional! I would highly recommend this venue to anyone in

From the moment I walked into Hughes Manor, I was overwhelmed by how beautiful the space was. As soon as you pass the gates, you see this stunning venue. You would never expect to see such a gorgeous indoor and outdoor venue right off of Washington Avenue. I always said I would never get married outside in Houston...but when I saw the outdoor area, I knew I wanted to get married there! This is an absolutely gorgeous venue! I love how it made me feel like I wasn't in Houston, when I was, in fact, one mile from Downtown. Jess and Jillian were so helpful and knowledgeable. I hope I get to host an event here soon!

I had a great time at a function at the venue but I have to give it a 1 star for the valet services. It took an hour and a half to leave and we were offered no refund or anything.

The fact of the matter is, that the owners of this venue have truly worked with what they have. Washington street does not deserve this place! It's a beautiful venue that respects Houston's culture to the tee. Jillian has met with me and my fiancé in regards to our 130 guest count wedding, and I was very pleased with her professionalism as well as her attention to my theme and my requests for modifications of the venue. There are a lot of changes coming soon and I am very excited to book with this venue if we see that this is really the fit for our perfect day! More reviews to come!
