My wife and I have been to The Last Concert Cafe many times. This is one of those "hidden door" places where you have to know where you are going - there is zero signage and it is a very unassuming building. We have been for dinners and parties, but the best experience is when they have live bands. Sitting on the back patio in the cool of a Spring or Fall evening while listening to live music is truly a fantastic experience.

A Houston institution. In a hidden pocket on earth downtown with not much nearby.
The outdoor venue is perfect for Covid and it’s a lot of fun to take your shoes off and dance in the sand
FYI the restaurant is closed currently so eat before going

Went to see the Ain't wastin'time band from Austin TX . They started out pretty good and then I noticed something was a miss..the sound system was carrying cross talk from a radio station near by , and the sound engineer claimed he couldn't get it out of the system... pitiful if you ask me.. obviously I wasn't thrilled with his response.

I've been going here for fifteen years. The bartenders and staff are super kind and friendly and have all been there for ever. Great funk and rock and roll shows regularly. Sand for the dance floor. It's like a little slice of the beach

Don't go to Last Concert Café on New Year's Eve! They forced us to buy $75 tickets claiming the $50 tickets were sold out and then the day before the show they offered more $50 tickets. There was supposed to be champagne at midnight which I think only a few people got and tacos for a New Year's "breakfast" which turned out to be a few tacos in an igloo cooler. It was not well planned and disappointing to say the least.

I didn't have any food but we went for entertainment. Great place! Bar outside with stage across with sand. Definitely a hippie type place! Loved it!! I'll be back!

I adore this venue. Come as you are! Food is great, music is awesome, but the people and good vibes are what keep me coming back. Knock on the red door! You will be so glad you did.

Bathroom line is just ridiculous. 400 people and 4 stalls. Seriously get it together.

Always a wonderful place to watch a show, but now....it's even better! They've updated the outside leaps & bounds! They've added an amazing bar and added beautiful new restrooms that were kept clean! Great food, great drinks...even for us sober individuals (they have Topo Chico!) They have plenty of picnic tables. Standing under the nice tree 🌳 in downtown Houston to watch wonderful music being played!

Concert Cafe is an institution dating back to 1949 Elena "Mama Lopez who ran it well into her 90's. The building was a bordello. tradition has it that door is locked knock twice for entry and door is locked
The back patio is lined with picnic tables. This venue boasts touring acts and open mic.
Now the food it is good ;not particularly vegan. friendly. The service is fast and friendly. the food is good and the drinks strong a. A first choice in the art/warehouse district.

Great Sunday brunch. Their menu is definitely brunchy, with many egg options, with a definate Mexican flair. Their stuffed poblano and the cheese enchiladas with eggs were excellent. A full bar, large patio and make shift jam band completed our experience. We'll definitely be back.

Sunday brunch jam session is legen- wait for it- dary. When it is nice weather and daydrinking on a patio is the plan put in front of you by the good lord below this is the place to be on Sunday to enjoy some tunes, appreciate a pretty drink, and have some tex-mex all at the same spot.

The strawberry margarita is not just pretty, it is very pretty. LOOK AT IT.

I would have liked to have known what the velveeta looking saucer was on the table, but I assumed it was velveeta and treated it accordingly. (If any drag queens were considering using a stage name of Velveeta: just don't. For two

This is my all time new favorite spot to go!!! With their new renovations this hidden gem is going to become even more popular than it already is. The food is unbelievable (try the hamburger you won't regret it) the queso has a hint of jalapeno to it which was wonderful. There's been an awesome band playing every time I've gone too! If you have children there's a play area in the sand they can hoolla hoop while you enjoy your drinks outside. I've heard Sunday brunch is incredible so I'm excited to try it out soon!

We got the Big Dinner plate. Three cheese enchiladas, 2 tacos, and a tostada.

*gasp* How have I not reviewed this place? This was one of the first spots I would go to when my self-proclaimed-hipster-Northeasterner-self moved down here 3 years ago (to be fair, I was much cooler then, now I'm essentially a-okay with hanging out on the couch with my cat and a spiked seltzer...I can't wait for that to be the -hip- thing, I'll be cool again!!!!)!

Ok stream of consciousness aside - I forget how I found this spot, I used to go to bars on weeknights by myself and talk to bartenders because they know everything about anything going on in the social realm of a city

Food was excellent. The food was authentic Tex-Mex. The burger was great, and the fries were homemade like Mamma used to make. Being from out of town, we were concerned about the sketchy neighborhood, but things aren't always as they appear. We got there a little before 2:00 pm, so it wasn't busy; but apparently, they have good live music in the evenings.

Out of the way Tex mex place. Behind a unmarked door. They have live music a lot of weekends. The food is basic Tex mex but is alway good. Not great but good. Somewhere interesting to take out of town guests.

This is a very unique place: part restaurant, part bar, part live music venue. Last Concert Cafe would be more at home in Austin ("keeping it weird"), but I am so glad it calls Houston home.
It is dirty and needs repainting; seating is ripped; it is in a very run-down part of town (north side of downtown); parking is frequently frustrating...and I can't stop going back! The food is fantastic and service is at least acceptable. I am equally pleased by the delicious old-school Tex-Mex as I am by the solid burgers. Sure the complementary tortilla chips are store-bought, but they are

Another eclectic destination for food, drink and entertainment. The times that I have seen bands here, the crowd/entertainment has the same vibe as Renaissance Festival without trying to get you to buy something. Hoola Hoop dancers in the sand, incense (maybe something else burning) with the band onstage keep the atmophere very casual and non - judgemental.
If the very large back gate isn't open, you will have to knock on the front door. Behind the front door is about an 8 table seating area with the bar. There is more seating outside and 2 (maybe more) buildings across from the main one

I went here on a Sunday night and it was not busy. They had a good rock/blues band playing until 8:30pm and then a comic came on. You can sit outside away from the music/stage so it isn't as loud. There is also indoor seating away from the stage. The stage is in a middle area between the inside and outdoor patios. It is a very relaxing environment.

They bring you chips and salsa. We ordered the Big Mamma meal for $16 and it included: three beef enchiladas, beans/rice, guacamole, two beef tacos, cheese tostada. Plenty to share with two or three people. Food was good, but not as good
