The sheets were very scratchy. Clean but fabric softener is a life saver. Felt like I was about to roll over and scrape my nip off all at once. ALSO, save your money and eat elsewhere - the food is a hit or miss on seasoning (Pasta with no seasoning? Cmon.)
Hotel has other nice amenities. Again, clean rooms. Friendly staff. Room rate was decent. By far one of the better hotels in the area but little improvements would have made the nearly 200$ dinner (for 2!!!) worth it & again clean SOFT sheets, please.

I love having my boat here. It gives me a nice escape to retreat to a shirt distance from Houston.

Manuel was the most helpful employee at South Shore. He made sure we got a different room when ours wasn't working and made sure we were comfortable.
It Is true this resort is older and that modernizing it taking time but the improvements they have made so far are great. The countertops are granite, the floors in the bathrooms are tiled, and the updated nautical theme is great. I'm sure more improvements will come in time.
This was a quaint hotel with stunning views and the awesome Manuel!

Always nice views and ambience here! Outdoor pool with swim-up bar is a nice touch. The bedding could use an upgrade but otherwise a nice value for a night away.

This was a good place to stay, and they have a couple of good places to eat, but there are a few things you may want to be aware of before you go. First of all, this is an old hotel that has been updated a few times, but the rooms still have that appearance indicating it's age. Parking is limited, so be prepared to park in an overflow lot and walk a short ways on busy nights. The traffic signs aren't reflective, and the traffic control of the traffic circle is all wrong (stop signs on entry instead of yield signs). The swimming pool looks nice, but it is not heated, there is no lifeguard, and the

Great stay at South Shore. Very friendly staff and the hotel is very clean and roomy. I feel it’s missing a few amenities in the room, no microwave and not enough plugs for electronics. Overall great stay and would definitely return because of the friendly staff and cleanliness.

Calling this place a "Resort" is somewhere between a misnomer and fraud. This place is essentially a tall Motel 6 with a ballroom. What a disappointment! No activities besides a pool, no room service, no spa, no nothin'!

When checking in, there was a "Wet Floor" sign in the lobby, straddling a McDonald's cup and its previous contents. They marked it, but didn't even bother picking up the cup, much less mop it! When we went downstairs after about an hour in the room, the McD cup was still there, as was the liquid. That was indicative of how little this place

We could just relax and walk around the marina or have fun at the pool. Also, has a cozy balcony setting with perfect view. The location is convinient to NASA space center. Our little family enjoyed this gateway. They had a great atmosphere. Would definitely stay here again.

We popped in without reservations after being very disappointed at a competing hotel on the other side of the water. Ann at the front desk was extremely welcoming and accommodating, letting us check in at 10 AM!!! The disappointing part of our visit had to do with zero food served except for dinner. NO breakfast or lunch of any kind! The beds were not comfortable and the toilets were barely adult sized. It is in desparate need of updating!!! The pool area is one of its best features! Absolutely gorgeous, and despite upper 90 degree temps, the water seemed cool! Ann made the difference between

This was my second visit here. This is a great place to have gatherings and retreats. The staff is super friendly and willing to help in any way possible. My only complaint is the parking. It took us almost an hour to get out of the parking garage. A wire fell from the ceiling complicating matters as cars tried to figure out how to navigate around it. It is also very dark in the parking garage. If you avoid the garage, this is a five star establishment.

Hotel is super run down. Needs to major upgrading. The service is odd. They blame Covid for not being able to come into the rooms and take your trash and give you towels. I had to ask for towels to be sent up on 3 separate occasions before they actually brought them to me. I never got the toiletries I asked for either. The shower had the office tile for a ceiling and the drain was clogged. The bed was incredibly hard and the pillows had hardly any fluff.

The perks of this place is the swim up bar for sure. There is also a DJ on Saturday. Unfortunately, you can't charge the drinks to your

Picturesque views of the Harbour, nice swimming pool/bar. Poor service at interior lobby bar, bartender complained to customer about being understaffed while mixing up orders, only 5 patrons waited to order drinks and or food, considered it to be slammed type situation. Patrons in front of me dressed in jeans told they didn't want to use coupons with the interior bar because there wasn't a variety that they would want to make special drinks. They clearly didn't want to walk outside to the pool bar where it was 95* plus and everyone was in bathing suits and wait in line for a drink

We stayed here for a wedding this past weekend and enjoyed our stay. The lobby has been updated and looks very nice, the staff was very friendly.

The room was nice, many updates were done but not the bathroom. The size of the room was good and the beds were comfortable. I could hear everything coming form the hallway at night so if you're a light sleeper, this could be a problem. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the marina which was nice.

We had a bridal brunch at the restaurant, which was very tasty with great service.

Very very very awesome place to stay !! Room was amazing, had a balcony, very clean, pool was very nice, the bar was nice, you can tell the hotel takes a lot of pride in their business. The parking garage and parking is also well lit. Staying here was great for as big as the place is the customer service was great.

Stayed at this hotel while visiting Houston mainly on a recommendation that the pool area is great. Overall, it was a positive experience. The location of the hotel is beautiful as it overlooks the harbor and there are some really pretty views. The rooms are nice and have everything you would need for a weekend away. The biggest perk for me as I like to workout even when on vacation is that hotel guests get access to a massive gym that's not connected to the hotel, but a less than 5 minute walk. The gym has tennis courts, a huge room of cardio machines, weight rooms, Pilates and several different

I worked here back in 2013/2014! It looks so beautiful now! The update is amazing! The front staff super sweet!
I was in the suite on the 11th floor. ( bridal makeup for a wedding. I was working ) Penthouse! 1101 and it was gorgeous and the view was very nice. I had seen the room prior and what a difference!

I've never stayed here or had bad service as a customer! When I was a bartender here I was treated nicely by most guests and all staff. ( not rating on my personal work experience here )

I just am very impressed with how beautiful it is now! I sure do miss the swim up pool bar in

If you are thinking of an event here, save yourself a major headache and look elsewhere!!
This review is regarding a recent party I held in the Harbour Club. The absolute worst party experience ever! The only reason I am giving a second star is because the arranging catering representative -Abbie was caring and apologetic.
We were forced to look elsewhere for a party venue as our original location was flooded due to the hurricane and would not be ready by the weekend of the party. The party was for my Daughter turning 13. The Harbour club although much more formal than we were needed is a beautiful

It was fine. My stay was a single night prior to venturing out on a cruise. It was the right price and the right location for the things we wanted to do, Nasa and Galveston's Pleasure Pier, plus obviously leaving for the cruise at the Galveston cruise port.

The hotel property is massive! The lobby was beautiful. There is check-in parking by the front door and ample above and below ground parking. We had no issue finding space. My only real complaints involve the other humans at the hotel and their lack of consideration for other people. I would stay here again.

The room had a balcony which

The pro's - NICE staff, really everyone we encountered that worked there were exceptionally pleasant & accommodating. The room was nicely furnished, had a refrigerator and we had a great view of the bay & a balcony. It was also easy to get to boat show since it was held on the grounds of the SSHR. They had originally booked us in a room right across from the elevator but kindly moved us further away. Free WIFI & Parking, if you can find a place, bit challenging with everything going on.

Con's - remodeling for ever!! Only one elevator and there was the boat show & a
