Our Daily Bread Bakery & Bistro, established in 1980, has steadily grown from a small bakery into a bustling patisserie, bistro, and caterer. We serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as a variety of pastries, cakes, pies and breads. We are passionate about the art of baking and hospitality. Fresh hot breakfast items and pastries can be enjoyed with organic gourmet coffee or Italian espresso drinks.
Lunch is made fresh daily featuring sandwiches made from fresh baked bread, whole grain salads, made-from-scratch soups and special-of-the-day entree items. For dinner we specialize in French-inspired cuisine.

This little cafe is the perfect place for a quick breakfast. Even though they were pretty busy, it didn't even take 15 minutes for our food to come out. Don't expect traditional service. You order at the front and then seat yourself. Coffee and water are self serve, and there is an assortment of bottled drinks. After seating yourself, the person running food will call out your name and deliver it. They have a regular breakfast menu and specials. I tried the special of the Philly cheese steak omelet with croissant, and my partner had the crab cake with poached eggs and hashbrowns. The food was hot

If I could I could give it worse rating I would. My boyfriend and I used to shop here often but a few times we had issues with the food. Found mold on one of the pastries one time and saw flies in the display case once. We know restaurants can’t be perfect but what broke the camel’s back was their staff and how rude and unprofessional they were. We felt like we were inconveniencing them. I hope they train their staff better and wish them the best of luck but we won’t be coming back.

I will forgive most things but the poor service of this establishment takes the cake. I can’t get over their unprofessional attitude. Hire better employees or at least train them to take care of their customers and acknowledge them. Ask for something and watch how they “take care of you”. I don’t know how they are still open after so many complaints about their service. Zero stars is what I would give them if that was an option.

Me and my family used to come here In support of a local businesses but they have proved over and over that they do not care about customer service and their employees make it clear. The first few times were great a couple of years ago but it has steadily gone down. We have seen flies and insects near the displayed food. We understand that happens but multiple times proves that cleanliness and hygiene is not important. My problem with this place is that the dining experience takes away from the quality of the food. You have to stake your dining table with your coat, purse, or sweater before you can order your food. If you order first and then try to find a space to sit down, tough luck. That was my experience. We ordered 4 different breakfast items and drinks before getting a table. While waiting for our food, there were tables with coats and purses that we couldn't sit down. Whrn our food was ready, there was still no place to sit down. We went for dinner, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! One of the few places in Blacksburg that is still quiet on a Saturday night. The chefs special is a great deal: wine, appetizer, entree, and dessert all for $35 per person. I had the maple bourbon duck which tasted wonderful! All their dinner items looked amazing though. We were sure to grab some carrot cake on the way out!

We have yet to try their breakfast, but the bakery has always been tops! We are from out of town, and celebrate Fat Tuesday and they were the only one we could find with a King cake last minute. They have amazing muffins, the macarons are great, and the kids love their decorative sugar cookies. The selection is large, they have beautiful cakes, and serve coffee. Would recommend!
