Buttermilk Baking

Have only tried a birthday cake but everything looked yummy! Peanut Butter chocolate cake was fantastic, some said the best cake they’ve had! It’s definitely a pricier option but great for a special occasion. I was worried it was too small but the cake is so decadent that small pieces are perfect!

I contacted Buttermilk Baking, from upstate NY, regarding a rush order. They graciously listened to my request, helped me find the beat way to order, and guaranteed me it could be delivered in time.
The pie arrived, via overnight delivery, on time. It was exactly what I ordered, looked great, & I was assured by the recipient it tasted delicious. I would absolutely order here again.

The smell is divine! We smelled it and were drawn in! The look, the feel, the smell, and, finally, the taste...you must go! So creative and beautifully designed! So much variety! Hats off! I highly recommend the peach muffins!!!

Oh my goodness everything here is so good. Stopped in while using the laundry mat around the corner since we are on vacation. Grabbed a nutter butter to eat while walking around, then came back and bought a few things to bring back to my family. Everything was fabulous.

We stopped in while roaming around downtown and grabbed a few different kinds of cookies - they were all disappointing. The gf / df chocolate chip cookie was a heavy coconut flavor but somehow the chocolate was tasteless. The gf/df almond cloud cookie tasted like it was made a month ago, dry crunchy and crumbly and massive amounts of sugar. My bf got a raspberry thumbprint, the cookie didn't have much flavor and barely any jam. He said the nutterbutter was okay but at that point the bar was low. Very few times I find myself trying to find words to describe an experience and in this case also products. Ashley, the owner, is one of those unique combinations of extremely professional, expert and love for her craft, and a wicked sense of humor to be her "cake topper!" Now for the product. We live all the way on the other side of the country from the store and had some of the items shipped to us. Think about that for a second. Cakes and pies shipped across the country. Tossed around, sitting out in a hot wear house, thrown around like a shot-put are only some of the many situations our order

However Ashley was abrupt and spoke in a condescending manner. Not the greatest customer service. Made us feel like our request was taking her time away from other things she rather be doing.

This bakery is a treasure! Everything I have bought has been a huge success. Their pies, cookies and honey biscuits are so delicious. At least twice a month we order a chicken pot pie for dinner. Truly the best in the area. What makes it such a special place though is the customer service. You can order ahead, place a special custom order and even ship a gift anywhere in the country. Thank you to Ashley and the team at Buttermilk.

If you're looking for that fine European or Japanese type of pastries this is not your place. This place has the All-American pastries. Thick on the butter and thick on the sugar, at least the pieces I have purchased so far. I I believe years ago there was another pastry shop that had a lot of european-style pastries but I believe obviously that's gone. so I have gone there now a few times and they don't have what I want and I just buy a few pieces and I leave. It is a wonderful pastry shop for the suburbs. But for someone like me who comes from the city, it won't cut it. Anyways I give it 4 stars
