There is no place like home! Dr. Sugarman is excited to return to Mooresville where his family has been providing health care for nearly 20 years. After graduating from Mooresville Senior High School, Dr. Sugarman went on to earn his bachelor's degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He then earned his Optometry Doctorate at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. His externship training included pediatrics in Charleston, low vision in Philadelphia, and ocular disease at the VA hospital in Salisbury, NC. Following graduation in 2010, he accepted a position at a group practice in Charlotte where he worked until returning to Mooresville in 2013.

Eyes on Lake Norman is the best in the area! Everyone there is helpful, nice and knowledgeable.
I went to another optometrist in the area who could not get me contact prescription right after three visits.. Eyes on Lake Norman got it right the first time and it was perfect.
Will not go anywhere else now!

I love EOLN! Dr. Sugarman and his staff are great! Very professional, prompt and accommodating! Bobbie is a peach! All the girls eased my anxiety and I love my new frames! I Highly recommend the amazing team at EOLN!

Communication and Professionalism is a ZERO. I didn't get a call to tell me the glasses were READY.
No response from ANYONE regarding documents or lens prescriptions via email (which is how they advised me of requesting this information.) I emailed Bobbie York (Unprofessional manager), the front desk staff (Amanda and Meta) several times and no one answered.
Once I requested to cancel a part of my order is when they turned off all communication with me. I had to have my husband pop up on them and get my order

I’m from Florida and found this doctor through Google. They are so accommodating and have COVID safety on lock! Marry Ann is a BURST of magical glitter and Dr. Sugarman knows exactly what he is doing. He moves so smooth on the machine, the office is clean and they made sure to explain in detail how my daughter should put contacts in. Oh and Dr. Sugarman does not skip on washing his hands , I mean he really gets them clean. They have a long time customer moving forward.

I had a fantastic experience at Eyes on Lake Norman as a new patient. The staff was pleasant and quick to schedule my appointment. I was there for about 5 minutes before being called in, and Maria was amazing. She was genuinely interested in addressing my questions and concerns. Dr. Sugarman is also very personable and professional, I felt like I've known him for years as he immediately understood my frustration with the contacts I had been using and gave excellent recommendations. Amanda was kind enough to explain my insurance benefits (VSP), rebates, and shipping options. I highly recommend this

I have been using Eyes on Lake Norman for about 6 years. Dr. Sugarman is very knowledgeable, easy to talk with and he is willing to spend time discussing any concerns you might have. I never feel like I am being pushed through just so they can get to the next patient. Dr. Sugarman and his staff have always been great to work with! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

This was an amazing experience for me. I recently moved to the area and searched for a while to find a good eye doctor. After one facility cancelled on me, eyes on lake Norman was able to fit me in their schedule with little to no times notice. With me being a night shift worker, it’s extremely difficult to schedule appointments, but eyes on lake Norman made it so easy for me. The entire staff was so friendly and made me feel welcome which is a crucial part of patient experience. The front desk receptionists Amanda and Alexis were so helpful and welcoming. The new patient process was made easy

My husband has had two detached retinas so can be difficult for him to get good corrective lenses but Dr Sugarman does perfectly for him. Also we bring our 4 year old granddaughter and 6 year old grandson there, he is wonderful with children and has the tools to accurately evaluate them! Great staff too!
