Riccardo "Pete" Alaimo was born in Messina, Sicily and grew up in Palermo where he started training in the art of baking at the age 13 at his uncle Tottucio's shop. In 1990, Pete decided to move to the states with his wife, Patrizia, and his two kids, Alessia and Francesco, to further his baking career.
His first job was at Ferraro Bakery in New York City where he concentrated his skills on cake designing. His talents took him through several bakeries in New York and New Jersey including Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken. At Carlo's bakery, Pete was able to focus on more Sicilian traditions, which he is well known for.

Delicious italian butter cookies, pignoli and rainbow cookies. Also picked up some sfogliatella which were nice and crispy on the outside. St. Joseph Pasteries which very good too.
These were always a family staple back home throughout the year or when the old folks came over for some demitasse and sambucca. Someone always brought a box. Reminds me of my childhood.

If you enjoy Italian pastries and cookies, this place is a must visit! Endless stock and custom made treats. Authentic, fresh, beautiful, and delicious. Great place to stop in for a coffee drink and some dessert in their comfortable Cafe. Friendly service. Excellent hidden gem in the Lehigh Valley!!

Went in to talk to someone about a specialty cake for my daughters first birthday… 4 months in advance. I felt rushed, and showing them a picture of exactly what I wanted for the cake, the guy kept trying to change my mind and forcing his idea down my throat, saying his idea would be much better. 🤨 again being 4 months in advance he asked when I would be picking up the cake. Her party is on a Saturday so I requested same day pick up. He proceeded to say Saturday mornings are busy and asked if I could pick it up a day early. Don’t recommend wasting your time.

What can i say except this place is the best! first off, i made a mistake on the date for my sons birthday.... i was completely stressed with work, planning this event and all the details....my fault! Still they were able to do it and the quality was beyond amazing!! I can’t say enough about this bakery.....

We make Easter (Wheat Pies) at home as it is an Italian tradition at our house. Over the last few years finding ingredients has been tough and timing has been bad so we have purchased our pies from various local bakeries. They all have been terrible - WITH THE EXCEPTION OF La Dolce. My Mom, being from Rome, has a specific recipe and it's tough to find one that is similar. This bakery has come the closest and we enjoyed EVERY bite. Thank you for a job well done!

Truly addicted to their rainbow cookies and lobster tails. After one bite, it brought back so many memories from my childhood. This bakery is truly amazing. They also freshly made my cream puffs order which were so so delicious. Thank you so much for bringing such amazing Italian desserts to the area!
