Dr. Mustafa Alani is an international dentist. He graduated dental school in UAE, then moved to Miami for a two years advanced education in general dentistry program. He then moved to Jacksonville to practice dentistry and help serve the great community of Jacksonville. Outside the office, he loves playing soccer, working out and playing pool.

I was new to the area and in search of a new dentist and my insurance company suggested Alani Dental. The office staff was so accommodating and I was able to get in for an exam almost immediately.
Before surgery, an x-ray will be taken to get a better idea of what your mouth looks like. You will be given general anesthesia where you will be sedated to alleviate the pain. A simple extraction involves a tooth that is visible and can be performed by your dentist. A forceps tool is used to loosen and then extract the tooth.
Periodontal disease is an inflammatory condition that affects the gums. The disease begins from a buildup of plaque on your teeth and your gum line. If left untreated, plaque can go deep into your gum pockets creating the early stages of periodontal (gum) disease. In particular, the accumulation of plaque leads to gingivitis.
A ridge augmentation involves contouring the jaw and gums after a tooth extraction. When a tooth is removed, an empty socket remains on the ridge surrounding the roots of your teeth. Typically, the gum tissue will heal along with the bone. However, there are instances when the ridge does not heal, and an augmentation is necessary.

I went there for my cleaning and crown appointment. I was so impressed by the new hygienist Abby not only she was very experienced but also she was very knowledgeable and explained the treatment well for me. Thank you Alani dental for always having the best team in the front and back. Dr. Alani and his Assitant Abigail did a crown for me after and it was a very convenient same day treatment I left with a permanent crown.

Giving 3 stars because I’ve been (I believe) 4 times now, and 3 of them have been fantastic. I had Ellie as my hygienist, and she was very good, personable, and gentle. This most recent time was absolutely awful. My hygienist butchered my mouth. It hurt to brush my teeth that evening.
After over 20 years of dental work, teeth extractions, braces, surgery’s…. This appointment was easily the top 2 worst experiences.
I’m not trying to get anyone into trouble. But I won’t be back if I have the same hygienist that I had at my last appointment.

Great practice! Very attentive and informative throughout the procedures. I took both my son and daughter there. Both felt comfortable and at ease. They even offered my son a blanket and/or neck pillow! Oh and for those other parents that hate waiting on the lobby, they have snacks, drinks and WiFi.

I've been to this dentist office multiple times and I must say I don't regret my decision in the slightest. They have a warm and welcoming staff from the moment you walk through the door, especially the dental techs so kind and genuine. The facility is clean and tidy and they will even provide you with some water and a snack while you wait if desired(I would save the snack for afterwards if I were you though... I mean you are there for your teeth so be mindful before you start snacking away and have fillings of a different sort haha). Dr. Alani is the first dentist to touch my teeth other

Dr Alani and staff do a wonderful job of making you feel comfortable. I have had several things done including a filling and cap. He and his staff were very sensitive to my needs and very kind. The work I had done was done well. The office is very modern and clean. I say that because I have had work done at other dentists offices that were not clean or kind. My son also has gone to Dr Alani and has had nothing but good to say about him.
