This place earned their five stars with their proactive communication. They reached out both by email and phone in advance of our arrival to ensure we made it before their office closed. Nice room and friendly staff. We needed to leave a car after our stay while we went on a bike tour and they accommodated our request giving us a parking spot in sight of their surveillance camera.

This place is beautiful but the only thing that's going to take your breath away is the rude attitudes and horrible customer service. The owner Karen had some of the worst customer service I have ever come across. She treats you like everything you need or ask is a complete nuisance to her. We needed an extra towel in our room because we only had two and three of us staying in the room. We booked two double beds and stated in our reservation that there were three guests staying. So when I called the front desk to ask for another towel I did not think this was going to be an issue, but boy

We came down for a trip with our family and made reservations for a queen bed but then our young son asked if he could have a roll away instead of sleeping with us so I called to ask. The front desk owner Karen is horribly rude and as soon as I said we wanted to ask about a roll away she said she had to cancel our reservation because she didn't trust that we only had two adults and a 5 year old. She wouldn't let me speak and told me I could Turin my car around. If you are looking for a place to stay with pets children or even elderly do not stay here. If you ask her any questions about

We enjoyed a lovely stay at Bodega Coast Inn and Suites. We were greeted by a kind staff member and a bottle of chilled champagne waiting in our room (celebrating 20th wedding anniversary)
Our room was clean, spacious with nice decor and a comfortable bed! Would definitely stay here again. Excellent location and beautiful view. Thanks Bodega Coast Inn and Suites for a wonderful stay for our anniversary weekend get away!!

This hotel was crappy. The floor was filthy. (Looks like its never been mopped) Everything was dusty. If you have even slight allergies do not come here. The pipes are loud. All night long all you hear is other guests running their jacuzzi tubs. And stomping across the floor. I will never go near this place again. They day on their website walk to the beach, but you can't. There is no access. No ice. Crappy place

We have gone every year for our vacations/anniversary. Since new owners this place has gone so downhill, very disrespectful and unprofessional.
We got the Roman spa suite, it was dirty, the fire logs were wet. The toilet is so low to the ground you feel like your squatting to use the restroom. The jets in the tub were disgusting and the Coffee machine was even dirty.
Asking for anything from trash bags to towels seemed like an inconvenience.
The new owner with the wig and sunglasses (who looks like she's in the witness protection program) has no customer service and is down right rude

We were staying in Bodega Bay a few nights with our son and were mistakenly given a room that was only partially cleaned when we arrived. We called down to the front desk to complain about the room condition. Innkeeper Karen Richardson was very apologetic and immediately took measures to make things right for us. She gave us two new rooms (with fireplaces) for the price of one for both nights. We also received a nice bottle of wine. We were very happy with the new rooms and my son was happy to get his own room. Thank you Karen Richardson. We had a great time in Bodega Bay!

Booked 2 rooms for one night. Ended up having to cancel due to exposure to Covid. Gave them 4 days notice and they still charged for both rooms. Unfriendly staff and poor customer service. In these times of uncertainty, it's disappointing they couldn't be more understanding. Even charging for just one room would have gone a long way in my book. We are rescheduling our trip now that we are Covid free and won't be going here. They've lost business due to this.

Our family has been staying here 2-3 times per year for many years. We were here a month ago and had a decent enough experience, despite the COVID-19 impact on routine house keeping and the loss of the continental breakfast. This place has been treasured by us as the "go to place to stay." We've recommended it to friends and colleagues on multiple occasions as a hidden gem.
However, the new manager and staff are extremely rude and lack all heart for customer service.

OK... I've looked over some of the very poor reviews on this thread... Those folks have the right to their opinion... AND SO DO I!!!
My wife and I stayed here three days and two nights last week (middle of July 2021) and could not have been happier... Most of Northern Coastal California is emerging from some pretty severe closures and tight rules from COVID-19... Some places are having trouble staffing and returning to the gracious service most travelers expect... Not Bodega Coast Inn...

This is not even worth one star. I made a mistake for last night (07/17) and would like to cancel right away within 24 hours (today, 07/18). The email corresponding said you can cancel it. But the hotel phone line said you cannot b/c within 5 days. If you cannot do 24 hours cancellation policy, this is not a professional service. I just realized this hotel is a rip off. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL.
Update: the hotel manager left the reply down said I am bad behavior. However, I think when she heard my Chinese name that is why she got angry. I am not yelling at anyone over phone that is her impression

We LOVE BODEGA BAY. We actually had no other choice than to book a room here. Sadly we did. Never again. Staff is very rude. Especially the Blonde Lady at the front desk. She just talks and talks to get to your room or to get the booking.
The room was okay at best. The toilet is too small and low to the ground. No bars on the wall to help get up or down.
The patio is supposedly one of the best rated views. Tops of the cars is the view we truly had.
Never again. Oh yeah and the Maintenance Man lives in one of the rooms above where we stayed. Smoking on the patio. Smelled like

This hotel was a huge disappointment. I feel they are now using "covid" as an excuse for not having any services. No hot tub, no Resturant, no maid service! And the staff was so rude! The town does not offer much most shops were closed and the hotel made no effort to accommodate us. We paid for 3 nights and left after one. Don't waste your time or money!

My boyfriend and I just wanted a mini vacation so we went midweek in March (we didn't realize it was spring break). This place was quiet and clean, the room's were actually really nice and so was the staff. Most of the rooms have balconies that overlook the bay (which is beautiful during high tide). Unfortunately the week we went it was really hot (like mid to high 70s) and the rooms don't have any AC or any ceiling fans. Even with the balcony door open at night it was super uncomfortable. We ended up buying a fan from Target and setting it right in front of the door at night just

We had a great stay at Bodega Coast Inn. We arrived to a family friendly, pet friendly, lovely landscaped property right by the water. The staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious, larger than a typical hotel room. The patio was my favorite part of the room and I spent lots of time out there soaking up the sunshine and the beautiful views. We had a wonderfully relaxing stay with a beautiful view in this picturesque place.

What a bummer. The pillows smelled like that towel your teenage son washed and only half dried before putting it in the closet. The stench was too much. Went without!
Bonus pain, the people upstairs were playing loud music. We asked for help from the office, the music stopped but the yelling and jumping up and down began. That continued till 4 am.

We spent last night in the suites and were absolutely disgusted. We couldn't even use the spa in the room and that's what we went for since I'm pregnant and have been wanting to use one. We turned the water on and it was yellow, turned the jets on to make sure it was clean and filth came out of it!! The next morning the bath looked so nasty. WE DID NOT USE IT AFTER THAT. Also when my fiancé went to clean the bath, he cut his leg open on the cement side of the tub. Super dirty and unsafe. Office said this is normal for them and nothing they can do about it. I don't recommend
