Skin Cancer Rx-Newport
Kybella is the first non-surgical, minimally invasive treatment approved by the FDA to eliminate submental fat, otherwise known as neck fat, or the dreaded 'double-chin'. Dr. Rotunda co-invented deoxycholic acid as a treatment for fat reduction during his UCLA dermatology residency and now, over 10 years later, after rigorous testing in FDA clinical trials, it is known as Kybella, a safe and effective treatment for patients in North America.

As a pioneer of this treatment, Dr. Rotunda has unparalleled depth of knowledge and experience with this medication. Our Newport Skin Cancer Surgery practice was created to care for and heal your skin and make your skin cancer free. Like it or not, when it comes to living, everyone "has skin in the game".

Thank you for taking a moment to let me introduce myself. This is my chance to write a personal statement to you. When you read the "Education and Medical Training" section, you will understand a lot about how and what I've been doing most of my life. Our Newport Skin Cancer Dermatology practice includes daily battles with cancer.
We are committed to making your experience at Newport Beach Skin Cancer Center as comfortable as it can be. Dr. Rotunda and Dr. Bickle wish to make your visit very unique - for all the right reasons. Pleasant and comfortable should describe your stay with us, whether it be for a Mohs skin cancer removal or another dermatologic surgery procedure.
Enjoy this video as our way to familiarize you with who we are and how we care for our patients at Newport Skin Cancer, a practice dedicated exclusively to curing skin cancer. We are located in Newport Beach, Orange County, CA. This video will guide you through each step in the care of your non-sutured, healing surgical site.
For patients awaiting Mohs micrographic surgery in our Newport Beach, Orange County office, please download these forms in order to prepare for the day with us. Mohs micrographic surgery is named after its inventor, Dr. Frederic Mohs of the University of Wisconsin.

It involves surgical excision of cancer containing tissue and systematic microscopic examination of all cut surfaces that are correlated with a drawn map of the wound (hence the term "micrographic").It is a highly specialized procedure for the total removal of skin cancers. All other methods of skin cancer treatments require a certain amount of 'educated guessing' how wide and deep to remove.
We take your comfort seriously. The (at times) several hours of waiting during a Mohs surgery become so much more tolerable when the body is relaxed. After many months of trial, Dr. Rotunda believes he has succeeded in finding the most comfortable patient examination chairs. Our practice's ultra-soft chairs align with the natural curves of the back and neck and encourage relaxation.

Dr Rotunda is a very good doctor. He explained the procedures in detail. He listened to my concerns and questions and then addressed each one. His surgical skills are incredible. He removed tumors on my hand and my nose. My nose required a skin graft of tissue from my cheek. There is very minimal scaring. I highly recommend Dr Rotunda.

I just had a small basal cell carcinoma removed from my right ear. From the first contact everyone at Dr. Rotunda's office was kind, pleasant and attentive. The office is nicely arranged and the staff clearly excels at their work. Dr. Rotunda is likewise professional and friendly. All of my questions were answered and the surgery was painless, including the local anesthesia. I highly recommend Dr. Rotunda and his practice for anybody that has been diagnosed with a skin cancer. Stay safe!

I was a bit worried. I had a large cancer on my nose and having a small nose and being a woman, I was terrified at what I might look like when all of this was over. I need not have worried. The staff made me so comfortable through the entire process and Dr. Rotunda met with me prior to surgery just to reassure me that everything would be okay.
6 weeks later I am absolutely amazed at how well it looks and I know it's only going to get better from here.
