Should be a zero rating. I strongly encourage you not to utilize this man. He take advantage of citizen lack of knowledge concerning court proceedings. He will claim to provide you with a flat rate cost, but then intentionally leave out critical proceeding, so that he can have your back against the wall when he insist on you providing him additional money. He bullied me, was rude and then refused to do additional work on my case at a critical point. This was because he lied about the work outlined in my initial retainer. They may be right for security, but steer away from family law. My attorney wasn't prepared, stuttered and couldn't complete a sentence. I almost stood up in court and ask for a continuance until I could find representation that could speak in complete a sentences. He did everything he said we couldn't do and did nothing he said we had to do. He didn't present anything he said he would. I honestly think he was trying to string me out for a lot of money. Joseph Patrick Waters is unscrupulous!!! He took a retainer fee for a bankruptcy filing and then advised he was no longer providing this service. He has not returned the retainer fee paid of $1,000. This guy should not be allowed to practice law. Do not give him any money for a retainer fee unless you want to be taken advantage of!! His license should be revoked!!

Horrible experience with this attorney. I do not like leaving bad reviews on anyone, feels terrible. This message is for the emotionally vulnerable. I should have known right off the bat meeting this guy that things were not good. As I walked into his office he was firing another attorney and sparks were flying. My specific complaints are:
He was mean to me and his employees. Keep in mind, I was paying him. I was so distraught by this company that I signed the worst divorce settlement for me ever.

I can't believe I'm forced to give them a rating at all. I'm having a SECURITY CLEARANCE issue. It has taken their firm over 3 months to obtain information needed to appeal my JPAS Incident report. Here's the best part, they still don't have it. I spent over $1300 dollars. Their lack of professionalism and customer service is astounding. I had to constantly call on a weekly basos for a status update. They were well informed I suffer from PTSD and TBI symptoms which causes me to get frustrated easily. I would give it zero stars if I could. Waiting for my case to be finalized, it's been going on since October 2014. They have incompetent lawyers, their lawyers depart on a regular basis, you never know who your next lawyer will be, they continue to charge you to review your case, they miss your court hearings, then they try to justify themselves as a respectable law firm. On top of that, you will be charged for EVERYTHING. I even help draft my own agreement and if the parties already agree a long time ago then what is taking so long???
