Ed Montermini, a young, recently married state employee, needed help to make a $500 down payment for a small home in Olympia. Because of his short tenure with the state, he couldn't find a lender that would help him. That simple dilemma began a journey that led to the creation of WSECU. Ed remains a member today.
In December, membership totaled 65. Membership was expanded to include all state employees, the Washington State Employees Association, Washington Federation of State Employees and WSECU employees. In December, the first dividend (3 1/2%) was declared. The debenture program was established, giving members who had a minimum of $5,000 on deposit the opportunity to borrow money without collateral.

We've banked with this branch for years, usually through the drive through. In fact, of all the WSECU's in the area, I'd have to say this drive through is the best. They serve people in order and they rarely make mistakes (but they do make mistakes so check your receipts and balance before driving away). However, the service inside the branch is abysmal. We sat in the bank for 30 minutes and were literally the only customers yet no one helped us. This was after we were told someone would help us right away. There was 7 staff there, 3 in offices and 4 up front, serving absolutely no one. Banking

I recently established an account at WSECU and was there to utilize the notary services, but was told they could not notarize my real estate seller paperwork. These documents are not a part of the unable to notarize list found on the website. I was told to go to UPS were I had to pay close to $100 for notarization. I regret establishing my account with this credit union and will look for an alternative institution for my local banking.

I’ve been banking with WSECU for over 5 years, and have only had good experiences with the banking services and customer service. This weekend my card was used fraudulently overseas, which they declined transactions for, and working with customer service this morning was a breeze. I appreciate the new opt in fraud alerts, and the new checking account options.

I'm reviewing the bank as a whole and this branch. I have never had so many issues with a bank as I had with WSECU. First, I took out a loan and spoke with the bank about a payment plan to pay this loan. We set up dates I would pay which coincided with my pay dates. However, this payment plan was never communicated to their call center and I would receive at least two calls a day about paying off the loan. Additionally, the bank blocked me from using any of my account funds until I made a payment according to their schedule, not the payment plan schedule. Besides most likely being illegal

I just recently turned 18 and decided to open my own account. I came to this branch and I was blown away by how friendly everyone is. At my previous bank, I would always use the ATM because whenever I went inside I felt uncomfortable and like I was being spoken down to, but the employees at WSECU explain everything in a way you can actually understand and always make sure you're satisfied. I feel more confident in knowing what's going on with my money than ever.

I came in as a non member to solve a cashier Check issue that I had that was created at this credit union and the way Katie handled it I was beyond impressed she took a very difficult Situation and made it happen. Because of her I closed my account with the other credit union I had been with for 25 years and opened an account. They have perfect customer service and make you feel like a priority. I appreciate what Katie did for me yesterday and I am glad to be a new member now!

I am a former Twin Star CU customer. I moved both my personal and business bank accounts to WSECU, best decision ever. I have been with this bank and branch since this location opened and have been very pleased with their excellent service and attention to my banking needs. Super helpful and personal whether on the phone or in person.
