This place is like a second home for me. The coaches really work with me to make sure that I'm improving my movements so that I can become more flexible and balanced as I work to get stronger. I have met so many wonderful people that I now call my teammates and friends. We encourage each other and look forward to cheering one another on as we go through our workouts. This is definitely the place to check out if you are looking for a great fitness community!

This gym community is really great. The coaches are very knowledgable about fitness, but also nutrition and healthy habits. The workouts are thoughtfully written to help with progress and skill. Always, there are options to make each workout perfect for your fitness level. At 56 years old, I care more about movement, strength training and longevity than being the strongest one at the gym. The competition and camaraderie, however, is delightful and pushes me to do more than I thought I ever could.

I joined StrongBox Fitness (CrossFit Glen Ellyn) a little over a year and a half ago. I was looking for someone to help me get through some injuries but still work out to my ability. I was super nervous at first with it being a cross fit gym but had some friends who encouraged me to talk with Mitch (the owner). I opted to do an Individual Design fitness and nutrition plan to get back to working out. I didn't think I would ever be able to run again after I broke my hip (prior to this gym) but Mitch worked with me and now I am back to running if I want. I also travel a lot for work and

Although I am not active with CFGE due do my erratic travel schedule, I did feel compelled to review. The quality of instruction was very good during the time that I attended and the coaches were great. I had no issues with payment or cancelation as mentioned in previous reviews. In fact, CFGE proactively reaches out to you when your sessions are set to expire. They are very responsive and community oriented. Its a community that I would be a part of if my schedule/lifestyle permitted and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for better fitness and a great group of people.

I joined Crossfit because I wanted something that would improve my flexibility while increasing strength and maintaining good conditioning. I had been using the machines at the local park district for years but they did nothing for the soreness and stiffness that has become an ever present companion as I age. Crossfit has been just the right solution for me. The workouts are done as a group and scaled to the ability of the individual. So my intervals and times are less demanding than some of the buff young guys (and even girls!).
