School Of The Future
I found my career in education quite simply because I have always wanted to make the world a better place. I have always been frustrated by inequality and discrimination, and have always been driven towards solutions. I am an educator because it is a career where one can have a profound positive impact on a young person's life and future.

School of the Future was founded on the premise that every child no matter what their background should be allowed an excellent education. Each of the public schools in New York City has a School Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure a quality education. The SOF SLT meets monthly and attendance is open to all parents, students, faculty, and administration.

The Auction has raised a significant amount of money in the past and we would like to continue the tradition this year as the school needs it more than ever.

In the past we have fundraised to support the arts and enrichment; however, in 2021 our focus is more to supplement shortfalls in funding related to core SoF offerings such as our HS Tutoring program (to support MS students), Technology support, Professional Development to continue with preparedness for next year, and Performing Arts (virtual).
Please consider making a contribution to the SoF Parents Association Student Fund. This is one of our biggest and most important fundraising efforts of the year. These funds go towards our music programs, school plays, visual arts, SAT Prep, SoulFest, tutoring and more. Every donation makes a difference and every dollar is greatly appreciated.
School of the Future (SOF) is an example of New York City public education that works. It is a gem of a place where students transform intellectually, emotionally, and socially. SOF is a small, secondary school that serves children from sixth grade to twelfth grade in Manhattan's District Two.

As many of our Middle School students choose to stay for High School, we enjoy the unique opportunity to foster our students' growth from the time they leave elementary school to the time they are accepted into college.Close to 100 percent of our graduating seniors go on to college, many with scholarships.
Why do you love teaching? I found my career in education quite simply because I have always wanted to make the world a better place. I have always been frustrated by inequality and discrimination and have always been driven towards solutions. I initially wanted to be a lawyer, but in college I started to think that education was an even more significant lever for change than the law.
Each of the public schools in New York City has a School Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure a quality education. The SOF SLT meets monthly and attendance is open to all parents, students, faculty, and administration. Meetings are usually held on the first or second Tuesday of the month at 5:15 p.m. While the agenda of SLT meetings will vary from month to month, the topics are focused on the mission and goals of SOF and how our curriculum meets them.
