Mount Blue Motel was previously called The Moon Glow when it was built. Clyde Barrows was the previous owner and the person that changed the name to the Mount Blue Motel. He was the owner until his passing in 2005. The current owner purchased the motel in 2009. It is family owned and operated. We take great pride in our clean and comfortable rooms.

When I checked in, I was told that there would be breakfast. The office was locked at 0800, when I went to check it out. I called the hotel number and spoke with Wanda, who informed me that the morning person had called out, and she “hadn’t made it in yet.” I reminded her, that there was supposed to be breakfast, and she said that it wasn’t the hotel’s fault that there was no one there. I told her that I felt like, if you charge someone $120 for a room so small that 2 people could not move around in it, and breakfast was promised, then there should be breakfast. Ah where do I start!
Stained 'clean' sheets, moldy smelling rooms, AC that is a pain to operate, crusty showerhead with rubber pins that melt away when you adjust the shower, negligible water pressure that makes it impossible to have a comfortable shower, zero noise isolation in the rooms so you feel like you're sleeping in the middle of the road, stale (complimentary) coffee, no mention of the WiFi password in the room, heavy dusty curtains that cover the AC vent and many other tiny annoying nuances.
I had my expectations extremely low and was still disappointed. Made a note to make all my bookings

On September 3rd 2021 I unfortunately got told by the women running the front desk that I would not be allowed to check into my room after I told her that I had an emotional support dog. I was informed they had a special room for animals and it was booked up. I asked what we could do to remedy the situation and she said I was out of luck because it was non refundable. I told her I had 4 children and no where else to go for the holiday weekend, and she was unsympathetic. She got a tone with me and became rude when I told her it was against the law to deny housing to me, with a service animals including

I usually don’t write poor reviews but this time I really feel I should. I had called Mount Blue and made a reservation over the phone some weeks before my trip to Maine, which I was doing to pay my last respects to an old friend. I had spoken with the desk clerk who took all my information and provided me with an email confirmation. In short, when I got there the reservation was not honored. The desk clerk had no idea what to do or how to run the register to provide a refund.
