Services
Mayo Family Winery was founded in 1990 by Henry & Diane Mayo, and their son Jeffrey. Upon retiring from their day-to-day Real Estate Business, Henry & Diane purchased what would become our 10-Acre Estate Vineyard, the Laurel Hill Vineyard. Their intent was to produce exceptional Chardonnay grapes, and sell to local wineries; passion prevailed and led them to produce their own wine, under their own label.
Diane Mayo, after a lifetime of living in or around Sonoma Valley, decided in 1990 to raise some grapes. Her husband, Henry, cleared off a beautiful valley and in 1990 planted 3,000 Chardonnay vines. In 1993 they bottled their first 200 cases and discovered that it was very good. The following year, 1,200 cases were produced, and they were overwhelmed.
Planted: 1990 (Chardonnay), 2002 (Pinot Noir) Our Laurel Hill Vineyard is in the Sonoma Valley appellation. Planted on the Mayo family estate at the foot of Sonoma Mountain, this vineyard is the source for grapes that are used to produce the Mayo Family Estate Chardonnay. In 2000 we planted two additional acres of Pinot Noir.
When joining the Mayo Cellar Club, you become part of the Mayo family! All of our clubs provide you access to our special, small lot, and award-winning wines, as well as invites to some of the best events in Sonoma Valley! Special pricing for food and wine pairing at the Mayo Family Reserve Room in Kenwood *pricing and access to complimentary tastings vary by tier*.
Our winemaking facility off of Highway 12 and Arnold Drive is also home to our hospitality center. We are open daily from 10:30am -6:30pm and offer a tasting of both familiar and unique varietals. Bring your own picnic and enjoy a glass or bottle of wine in our pet friendly courtyard! For groups of eight or more, please contact the winery for a private tasting.

We so enjoyed stopping at the Mayo Family Winery while driving through Sonoma Valley on our honeymoon. By far the friendliest service we've received in wine country and a very nice selection of wine.

Absolutely fabulous family run winery. They do not distribute, so you must purchase on site if you want to take home a bottle or two. The tasting menus are incredible and very well priced. Our group of four ordered two each of the two tasting menus. We sat on their back patio and enjoyed the wine and the atmosphere. This tiny winery should be on your list of wineries to visit while in the area! The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Bathrooms available and very clean. Dogs welcome on the patio!!

A small winery, but they have great tasting wine. Definitely worth stopping to experience the tasting experience. The Zinfandel is a great wine and we also enjoyed the desert wine.
