Dr. Chang has an international and diverse background; she was born and raised in Lima, Peru with strong influences from her Japanese and Chinese family. Since early childhood she looked up to her mother and her passion for her dentistry career. The dedication, compassion and care that her mother had for her patients had a profound effect on Dr. Chang and her older sister who also became a Dentist specializing in Orthodontist.
Both, her mother and sister, practice dentistry in Peru where they enjoy improving the oral health of their patients with a dedicated care. It was in Lima that Dr. Chang attended Dental School at Cayetano Heredia University and received her Summa Cum Laude Doctorate in Dental Surgery as one of the top five students of her class.

Dr. Monica Chang is one of the best dentists in the DMV area. I followed her from her previous practice because of her trustworthiness, knowledge, and bedside manner. I can always count on her to be transparent about my dental health without feeling as though she's trying to upsell me on something I don't need. Her office staff, especially Nancy, is also very nice, attentive, and welcoming. Overall, I always have a great experience when I visit her office. From the minute you step in, to when you leave, you truly feel cared for. The staff is absolutely wonderful. The assistant, Carla, is kind and very attentive. I enjoyed my experience with her. Dr. Chang is a true gem. She's personable, patient and kind. She explained everything thoroughly which made me feel valued. Overall, the experience is more than I could have hoped for. I definitely recommend Dr. Chang to all.

I have been on dentist since i was 7 years old, 40 years interacting with dentist including orthodontist in different countries taught me a lot. After trying several professionals in the field, I was lucky enough to find Dr Monica Chang. Her hands are just incredibly precise. Everyone is so nice and welcoming at Smile Concept. From Nancy at the reception desk, to Carla, Dental Assistant, to Dr. Chang, my experience is always wonderful! I feel at home and at ease! I've been to many dentist, but none have made me feel as comfortable as Dr.Chang has made me feel. She doesn't make you feel bad or uncomfortable about your teeth and takes the time to throughly explain all treatment. The front desk receptionist Nancy is absolutely amazing and always finds time to fit me and my family in for appointment. If you're in the area and are looking for a beautiful dentist off with a knowledgeable dentist then this is the place for you.

I've had a great experience with Dr. Chang and her staff at Smile Concept! Dr. Chang and her staff are very warm, professional, sincere, and genuine. Dr. Chang makes sure that I feel comfortable every time I'm on the patient chair and that I get the most suitable treatment. I most certainly recommend Smile Concept!

I went to smile concept for a check up! Right away I could tell the front desk was very welcoming and friendly, then I was sat in the back, and the dental assistant was also very friendly and made sure I was comfortable at all times, she let me listen to music.
Then explained their routine, the dental assistant was very delicate with me, then the doctor came in. She was very very kind, she explained in detail my treatment and did a wonderful job with my dental cleaning. I have to say this is most definitely one of the best experiences I’ve ever had a dental office!!

One of the most amazing experiences ever. I have never been to a dentist office that has been so professional. Dr. Chang is amazing and a very talented Professional. I didn’t feel any pain during my cleaning procedure. Took her time getting to know your issue and addresses it with you very clearly. Felt very confident with my treatment plan and I know I’ll get my teeth fixed in know time with her being my new primary dentist! She’s made my phobia from the dentist go away 😭

I first went in for a routine cleaning and Dr. Chang recommended some further treatment (fillings). She explained in detail about her recommendations and the costs associated. Each visit back was very enjoyable. Honestly, I didn't feel a thing at all, and before I knew it, the procedures were done!

The staff were very nice it was just two people there and they let you get comfortable with watching a show or a movie or even listen to music on youtube, they will ask if everything is good and explain what's going on and at the end they gave me a goody bag with toothbrush, floss and toothpaste. I had a really great experience there.

I had a pleasant first time at Smile Concept. Dr. Chang and her staff are friendly and accommodating. I came a couple minutes early since I was a new patient, but even then, the check in process went very seamlessly. Dr. Chang herself is patient, understanding and very thorough which is great because as a patient, I like to know what exactly my doctor is doing.
The practice is new and has a beautiful, clean, up-to-date feel. This was the first time I had an x-ray that showed the bones of my jaw-- usually it's just my teeth area, so it's nice to know that the extra step is being taken
