After the second world war, Pete DiFranco and Paul Coletti began servicing transmissions together in Somerville, MA. It was not until 1957 that together they opened their first shop- Hydramatic Sales & Service- also in Somerville at the time. As automatic transmissions grew in popularity, the need for service was also increasing.
When faced with the decision on how to repair your transmission, there are many approaches. First, we must determine whether an electrical control fault is present causing the transmission to function improperly. If this type of concern exists, it must be remedied first. Often times, this will cure the entire concern.
This is the tool for any repair requiring factory-level resets and/or adaptations. Its wireless capability also allows us to cycle execute commands without being inside the vehicle, allowing us to test components without multiple personnel. This tool is the most powerful for European vehicles including Audi/VW, BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, Land Rover, and Volvo.

A few days ago I had my car serviced by Paul and his team for a clutch replacement. I called in to schedule a time to bring my car in for diagnosis. They were responsive and able to take me in that day. Their hours of operation works for my schedule. They were able to replace my clutch in a very reasonable time. The workmanship is superb and customer service outstanding. I will definitely use their service again!

I went here earlier this week to get my brakes done. The owner, Paul, was extremely nice and helpful! I work in the area and he offered to drop me off as well as pick me up later once my car was finished.
I only planned on getting one set of brakes done due to cost but I ended up get both sets, rotors, and an oil change because Paul gave me a great deal. I'll definitely be going back here again.

Excellent, excellent service. In October of 2017, we made the difficult decision to repair the transmission on our 2010 Buick Lucerne instead of buying a newer car. It was expensive, but Hydramatic did a great job and the car was back on the road for my husband's long business trips. This summer, while on vacation, the transmission gave out. We went back to Hydramatic because we thought the car was still under warranty. Although we couldn't find the paperwork, Hydramatic could. They assured us that we were still within the warranty. I have an antique Ford. I lost the reverse gear last week. These guys were recommended to me. I could not be more pleased. They take pride in their work. They took it apart and gave me an estimate. The car was repaired on time and on budget. When the car was delivered to me it looked like no one had worked on it because it was so clean.

Excellent service here. They were transparent about what they could do and what they could not do, which I greatly appreciate. I'm used to the sadly typical experience of car guys trying to take advantage of me due to the fact that I'm female and they assume I have no car knowledge. Not the guys at Hydramatic! I will definitely be using this place from now on.
