It was Saturday 2pm. The store was overcrowded. Was hard to get to see the jams. The line was all the way out the door. 1 person who was only at the register and was very slow. Not only was there no pastries but very few hams for sale.

Huckleberry milkshakes and the dopest aprons and jams. I didn't know I was missing out on all of this great stuff until a friend told me to stop here while out in Hood River. This place is worth the trip if you are within an hour of it. On a couple of occasions I have gone climbing at some of my less favorite crags just so I could be close to Apple Valley Country Store for a post climb snack. This place rules.

Just too many people in such a small space, but the pear dumplings smelled amazing. I miss all the merchandise they used to have.

A little crowded but very enjoyable little store. We loved our Carmel covered Pear Dumpling we got. It was so good! The sugar free pear syrup we got tastes amazing on our pancakes!

Excellent milk shakes. They have frozen pies from the bakery as well that are absolutely amazing. When available, their fresh blueberries are fantastic. If in the area, definitely try to stop in, they're worth the visit!

Great place to grab some jams and spreads. I mainly went for the huckleberry or marionberry shakes which they had on the big signs out front. Unfortunately they said they aren't doing them until the end of August. Their raspberry rhubarb jam is highly recommended.

I have to admit I was not overly impressed with the over all "country" charm of the store. It felt over crowded and stuffy. Others may find it charming because the places was busy!
We did take a frozen pie 🥧 to go. Based on the turnover I had I'm a bit skeptical. The turnover crust was delightful and fluffy although doughy in one location. My downside to this hand sized pie was the lack of filling. It literally was in the last 1/3 of the pie and not very favorable.
So, here is to hoping the actual pie fares better.

This is a cute little country store just off the highway part of the fruit loop in Mt Hood. Has some interesting country items as well as homemade pies. Unfortunately they had sold out of the Huckleberry pie we really wanted. Maybe next time. Stop in and check it out wile cruise the fruit loop look it up.

Came here for the huckleberry milkshake and it was so good. The store also sell handmade pastry and fresh jam from all kinds of berries. So happy to be able to support local farms now that things opening up again after the pandemic. 🤗
