Contact lenses correct your vision and are easy to wear. Choosing the contact lenses that are right for you depends on your vision and the degree of comfort you are seeking. There are many types of contacts to suit almost anyone. Soft contact lenses are the most commonly prescribed due to the fact that they are extremely comfortable.
The human eye is the organ of sight closely related to the brain and is best compared to a camera. Like a sophisticated camera, the eye has multiple discrete parts which must function together properly to produce clear vision. The function of the eye is to convert light into an electro-chemical signal, which is then transmitted to the brain through the optic nerve.

I suffered a fall that bent the arms on my eyeglasses. I needed them to be repaired and the nose pads replaced. I first called the optometrist in Maplewood Village. I was told they couldn't fix my frames because I hadn't purchased them there. Then I called Dr. Delisio at Maplewood Vision Care. The woman on the phone was extremely kind and helpful. She told me to come in the next morning. I did, and my frames were promptly repaired and nose pads replaced at no cost. Net result: Dr. Delesio is now my (and my wife's and son's) go-to optometrist, and the Maplewood Village optometrist is not.

This was one of the most egregious experiences I've had in years. I drop off a pair of sunglasses that are less than 2 years old to have the lenses replaced. When I had my exam there about a month previously the doctor told me it would cost me about $400 for a pair of frames and progressive lenses. I found nothing on the wall I liked so I passed. Today I dropped off my old sunglasses (2 yrs. old) and left them to see how much they would charge me for new lenses on the frames. The cost was $500, this on my own frames, mind you! I tell them they're out of their minds. The answer they gave

I've been to Dr. Delesio once. I felt like he didn't give me a very thorough eye exam. He ended up giving me a weaker prescription than I had in the past, but I decided to trust him. When I got my glasses they were too weak and I saw less clearly than with my old glasses.
I never followed up with him, so I can't say how well they handle a mistake, but I decided I'd rather go elsewhere in the future where they will give a more thorough exam to begin with.

I saw this doctor a few years ago, but still remember the atrocious advice he gave me: to keep my disposable contacts in more while I slept. That advice contradicted every eye doctor I'd ever seen, so I shouldn't have listened. But I followed the advice anyway (hey, it's easier to keep them in)...and lo and behold, I got an eye infection a few weeks later. Went to a different local eye doctor for treatment and was told that (as suspected) I'd been given horrible advice.
