Raised in Long Island, New York, Dr. Altman earned his AB degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Altman went on to complete his Medical Degree from Baylor College of Medicine in 1984 followed by an internship in internal medicine at the VA Medical Center in Long Beach, California/UC Irvine Medical Center.
At the conclusion of his Internship, Dr. Altman returned back to Houston, Texas to complete his residency in Dermatology at Baylor College of Medicine. In 1988, Dr. Altman moved to South Florida where he joined a group practice specializing in dermatology until the opening of his private practice in Plantation to offer patients one-on-one care in a state of the art facility.

I LEFT IN TEARS. AVOID THIS DOCTOR. The appointment was only 5 minutes, which wasn't the worst part. The worst part was when he was done with my appointment, he told the receptionist to charge me and that I would have to pay now. Since I have health insurance, everything goes through there like it should. I told the doctor that I would like for him to file a claim with my insurance, and he got upset and slammed the door in my face. I was supposed to schedule a follow up appointment but wasn't able to do that. Not that I would have anyways since this was the worst experience in my life

The staff here were all very nice. I think I spent 2-3 min in the waiting room and saw Dr. Altman within 5 min of my arrival! I wish my PCP was that fast. Dr. Altman was super nice and had a diagnosis for me within minutes.
I almost chose another provider because of the negative reviews on here. GLAD I DIDNT!!

This guy is most money nasty hungry i ever seen in my life.I when there in january this year for 2 warts he burned i pay $200 dollar and now in december i received a call for collector company that i own $500 dollar plus $300 dollar that he charge to my insurance, he wasn't sent me a letter or contact me about that he send me to collector company now i have to deal with my credit and the insurance for two warts plus $1000 that he wanna collect he is not a doctor he is a money hungry .Before go there again starts checking your insurance because he is doing that to everyone

Amazing! My daughter had a pretty severe rash and needed to see someone right away. She has a rare skin condition that most doctors aren't familiar with so she hates walking into urgent care clinics and having to explain her condition. She's a Freshman at a nearby university so we had not yet set her up with a dermatologist in the area. I called from out of state and Trisha was able to work her in right away. I have been a customer for years and have sent my relatives and friends here. He is all about money, does not want to genuinely help you. I was short on medicine and he refused to urgently provide me the medicine. Now I am back to square one and it's because he needs his copays. Hours are terrible and stern, zero flexibility.

I'm really surprised that there are any bad reviews for this office. Dr. Altman and his staff are all so friendly and on top of everything. There has never been a time when I have left and had to bug them about sending in my prescriptions to my local pharmacy, they are on top of their stuff like no other office I've been to. For those complaining about having time with the doctor, I understand but he's not a primary care doctor he doesn't have to go through your review of all bodily organs, problems, meds, etc. I've suffered from acne since my pre teens and he's been

The front desk staff was nice, well one lady was and the other complained the whole time about how she hates living in FL lol. The doctor himself is rude, arrogant and made me feel belittled when I asked him questions that I obviously didn't know the answers to but he made it seem as though I should. If I knew the answers why would I seek medical help? I also asked about procedure costs to remove one small, stubborn whitehead on my face and I couldn't get clear answers but then of course got a bill later. He was rude and rushed the appointment and I would never go back.

WOW Sip this guy and his staff are the worst. I had to listen to the insurance lady giving her political opinion before I ever got in to see the "doctor" ( a rock in a white jacket)

I made an appt yesterday and he could see me today. As soon as I walked in the office I only sat for like 5 minutes and then he came and saw me. He knew right way what the problem was as he gave me a plan of action and what we would do on the next appt. I highly recommend him. From the Office Staff to the Dr everyone was super nice and helpful!

I totally agree with Debbie. The office staff is great and accomodating!! Dr. Altman has been my derm for a couple of years now and I have never had a long wait time to make an appointment, nor when I get there. My cousin who is a chronic rescheduler also goes to him and has never had a problem if he forgot about an appointment or needed to reschedule.
He is straight forward and takes him time. The office itself is also really nice, clean, but not sterile and cold looking like hospitals. I recommend him to friends and family all the time and I haven't had a complaint yet.
