I began biking while I was about 10 years old. Being the last of a family of 7, I'd inherit an old beat up adult bikes my older brothers used to race. This meant I had to learn how to repair them. The mechanics of biking always interested me, and watching my brothers dismantling a bicycle and doing repairs made me want to learn.
I always wanted to know how things worked; having that spirit, I took my bike apart many times, that's how I learned to work on bikes, I messed up my bike to know how to fix peoples bikes. Riding was really fun, and after a few years of just using the bike to go to school and do random chores, I tought about jumping, you know get some "air".

One of the friendliest and most knowledgeable shops in town. I see someone complained that Galactic was not a shop for "people of color", which is laughable, but also offensive, as the owner is of ethnic minority and employs a black person. When all other reviews are 5 star and some random uninformed 1 star review pops up, doesn't that seem odd ? Anyway, trust your bike to the Braggi and the guys at Galactic, they won't steer you wrong.

I just moved to town and was looking to get a nearly 39 yr old mountain bike up and running again. Some brake parts were missing and we were able to troubleshoot the problem and come up with a new solution. I was also having another bike tuned up. I needed both done pretty quickly as we were leaving not the beach and wanted to take them with us. Braggi took care of everything for us. I cannot day enough good things about this shop. I haven't needed much in the way of bike service, but all my contacts there have been positive and friendly. A couple times I've had to wait while he was dealing with someone , but he dealt with ME when it was my turn. ... The "problem" of a small business that doesn't have several people to serve customers.

This is definitely not a place that welcomes people of color. I went here one day in search of purchasing a bike (but of course), when I walked in the guy behind the counter was talking to a buddy of his. No acknowledgement of my entrance to the store, I briefly stood there and waited for the conversation to come to an end or to be acknowledged by the guy behind the counter. After about 10 mins I say excuse me I am looking for a bike, guy behind the counter blurts out without looking at me "how much do you intend on spending" - ummmm definitely not the response I was looking for. Great bike shop. Small owner / operator / mechanic is all one guy. I hesitate to leave a great review because once everyone finds out he'll probably get too busy for me! Anyway, guy knows his stuff and he does it right the first time. If your meticulous and want a conscientious mechanic who can steer you in the right direction and provide honest reliable service look no further in Greensboro.

While I ultimately ended up finding and purchasing a bike elsewhere, I stopped in at Galactic Bikes and was very impressed with the service. Braggi gave me a lot of useful information and helped me to figure out what I was really looking for in a bike. Additionally, he gave me his card so I could call if I had questions, even if it was about a bike I might be buying from someone else.

Braggi is a careful competent bike tech and shop owner who can give you expert unbiased advice regardless of your specific cycling interests. Don't be too surprised if he keeps working on somebody's bike while he's answering your questions. He's a hard worker and is worth visiting regardless of your location. We drive over an hour to his location.
Try Braggi at Galactic Bikes. A little hard to find the first time on busy Battleground but a more relaxed PERSONAL shopping and service experience than the BIG bike shops with their high staff turnover and inconsistent expertise

New bike shop in town. The owner seems to actually care about giving good personalized service and did an excellent job fixing the drivetrain on my mountain bike. When I dropped my bike off it was shifting terrible and very dirty and when I got it back it was working great and had been cleaned- Awesome! My experience with other shops close by is they either have an attitude or they don't know what they are talking about. The owner said he's only been open a couple of weeks and I'm sure the inventory will grow with time. This is my new go to shop!
