Owner and master mechanic, Merritt White, has been working on bikes since he was only 7 years old. After 2 decades of wrenching and working in the bike industry, he decided to fill a void in the local bike scene by opening ReCycles Bike Shop in 2005.
For over 10 years ReCycles has been a primary resource for both advanced riders looking for niche, boutique bikes and high-end service, as well as burgeoning riders looking for an entry-level bike that won't break the bank.In addition to helping those less fortunate in our community through servicing the bikes of the homeless and needy, ReCycles also offers mobile repair service through its newest addition, OnPoint Mobile Service.

We are a full service parts and repair shop, serving Greensboro and the surrounding areas for over 11 years. Whether it's bottom brackets or water bottle screws, we've got you covered. We'll even come to you with OnPoint, our moto-based mobile repair service! Front and rear shifting and braking adjustment, lateral spot wheel truing, chain clean and lube, overall safety check and bolt tightening, wipe down frame.
While our shop is heavily focused on bike maintenance and repair, we also stock new bikes from Rocky Mountain and we are an official dealer for Surly and Banshee. In addition to new bikes, we have a large stock of used bikes that we repair to professional standards and retail for simply the cost of parts and labor.
Recycles Bike Shop is a SCHEDULE based appointment repair shop that caters to the time frame of the customers. By scheduling appointments we can have more direct communication and a 1 on 1 experience with our customers. We also do house calls! If you need us to come by and pick up your bicycle at home or at your work, this can easily be scheduled in.
This custom-built Legend has been featured on Bike Rumor, as well as numerous other websites and blogs. It features a rare, brown DVO Emerald, Atomic Carbon hoops on Industry Nine hubs, as well as a custom XTR Di2 rear derailleur modified with Saint parts to accommodate the larger cassette. I brought my nephew's bike in because it needed a new tire. I was thinking I would have to leave it and pick it up in a few days. I was pleasantly surprised when I was told they fix tires on the spot! I was out in less than 30 minutes. The young man who helped me was very nice. I was also very pleased with the price! Outstanding all around!

I needed to have my Fuji serviced and I found Merritt and Recycle on Google. My bike needed brakes, a general tune-up, etc. Merritt did the work, explained why he was going to do what he did, and did it for a fair price. I am so pleased and I’m glad my bike is in great working order. Thanks!!!

What can I say about this place that hasn't been said already? The staff is super kind and knowledgeable. I wanted to bring an old Schwinn varsity frame back to life but James informed me the frame unfortunately was too small for me. Being 6'4" I knew finding a frame my size was going to be quite the task but taking a look through the frames they had available they managed to find one just my size! not only were they able to find the frame but they put the whole bike together! Merritt and his staff are very knowledgeable about all types of bikes. Repairs are done right the first time. I purchased a used frame that Merritt had had on the wall for a couple of months. He was able to build up the frame with new and slightly used parts to keep the cost down. He treats everyone fairly no matter what type of bike they have or how much money they have.

Merritt was super friendly and professional. I called in to see if he could replace 2 tires for me and received excellent service. I thought that I would have to come back on another day to get my bike. I was able to pick my bike up within 2 hours and was able to ride today before the rain started. Support his business! He provides quality service to everyone in our community!!

It is always awesome to walk into a bike shop and have the owner right there working on the bikes. Merritt was very friendly and super helpful in getting us a great value on our bike build parts. He took time to understand what our needs were and was happy to give us the beat deal possible. They have a great mission there of helping the community and those less fortunate too. Super bike shop!
