This 6-foot long ski-tug (Wasserskischleppgert) was produced in Hamburg, Germany for the leisure market in Europe and was quite popular in the day. It was first introduced in late 1962. This one is from 1964. It is powered by an NSU 150 cc Type 61 single-rotory Wankel engine. The 24hp engine was the first large-scale production of a rotary.
A mid-sixties rare survivor: The Go-Devil was introduced in 1964 and marketed as "just what you need and nothing more." This little bike is designed to throw into the back of a car, truck or an airplane. It travels in a bag about twice the size of a bowling ball bag and weighs circa 69 pounds. Its ingenious design makes it easy to set up.
These are the "newer" motorcycles in our collection. Some are classic. Some are not. It's a question of time where classic ends and new begins. The motorcycles below range in age from 1971 to 1995. All of them we own, or have owned - occasionally trading in or trading up to another machine. Our son also rides, and he too has traded up to bigger bikes.
Most of the classics on our site were restored by Classic Motorcycles. The motorcycles below were ground up restorations - paint, cad plating, chrome, pin striping, NOS parts, motors and transmissions rebuilt, etc. They range in age from 1915 to 1976. Each motorcycle has its own character and story.
We prepared two 1915 Harley Davidsons for the 2016 Cannonball, dubbed, "The Race of the Century." A lot of work went into making these bikes road worthy for a 3,400 mile journey. They are both 1915 V-twin 3-speed motorcycles. They are basically original, but with numerous safety modifications per the Cannonball rules.
