Services
Welcome to the fourth year at New Harmony High School! We are thrilled you've decided to return to, or to become part of, the New Harmony family. While we spent most of last year learning virtually, we are excited to be rolling toward a careful, safe return to in-person learning this year. Thank you in advance for your patience, your trust, and your belief in us as we get to know each other, ourselves, and our community.
I am passionate about New Harmony because I am passionate about education in general. Having several educators in my immediate and extended family, the importance of a good education was instilled in me at a young age. I was taught that a proper education is the foundation for both personal and community growth.
New Harmony students will spend time in the unique communities and environments of Louisiana. We are serving grades 9, 10, and 11 during the 2020-21 school year, and will serve grades 9, 10, 11, and 12 during the 2021-22 school year. New Harmony is located in Mid-City just off the Bayou in between Moss Street and Esplanade Avenue in the old Holy Rosary building.
New Harmony High School (NHHS) utilizes unique educational frameworks to deliver deeper learning experiences for students and staff: advisories, fellowships, projects, and expeditionary learning. Each student at New Harmony is part of a small, 15 student learning community called an advisory. Each advisory is supported and led by an advisor (teacher) who forms a personal relationship with each of their students.
New Harmony High values student identity. We believe that every child deserves to receive the best education possible. Being placed in the least restrictive environment, gaining necessary life skills and learning how to relate and communicate with people from different walks of life is imperative to the academic growth and success of any student.
