A star rating is provided for each of these three sources, in case some areas are more important to you than others. Then, these three ratings are combined to calculate an overall rating. Nursing homes vary in the quality of care and services they provide to their residents. Reviewing health inspection results, staffing data, and quality measure data are three important ways to measure nursing home quality.
Recovering from a recent hospital stay following an injury or illness can come with many challenges. Often times, a family member, based on their experiences caring for loved ones at home, believe that certain changes require hospitalization. However, while true for the elderly living at home, one of the advantages of having your loved one in our care is our ability to respond and manage virtually any need they have - now and in the future.
Aquatic Therapy incorporates Physical and Occupational Therapy performed in water. By using the resistance of water instead of weights it is very effective after an injury. It balances the amount of weight placed on the joints by exercise outside of water, and its benefits are continuous. Aquatic therapy focuses on circulation, endurance, flexibility, range of motion, balance and coordination.
For those recovering from heart disease and/or cardiac-related surgery, our cardiac rehabilitation program can help them achieve optimum recovery and health. Goals include limiting the physical effects of cardiac illness and improving overall cardiovascular fitness. Further, we educate all staff members to be vigilant regarding changes in our cardiac patients' condition, which has proven to be an effective step in reducing re-hospitalizations.
Prior to a resident's discharge from our facility, our rehabilitative professionals make sure they're ready for the challenges involved with returning home or to an alternate level of care. In addition to outlining personalized exercise plans and guidelines for safely performing daily routines, our therapists will make sure each patient can manage stairs and other obstacles related to returning home.

The new ownership of Highland Ridge leaves a lot to be desired. The Williams had set the bar high for the resident and thier care that were trusted in thier keeping. Where as the new owners have lowered that bar to the base of the state requirements. Staffing ratios are changing to a higher number of residents per CNA and nurse. As we all know how that will impact resident care.
And employee turn over is unreal. As we all know staffing is an overall issue in all buildings.
But word of advice to anyone looking for a place of employment stay far away from here. You will have to fit in with
