Services
Their vision is to provide the highest quality veterinary care to all of your companions and to exceed the expectations of current and future clients. Since 2012, the Otkas' have continued to update and modernize the hospital and equipment. Dr. Otka and his team work every day to achieve the goals set forth in their hospital slogan: Raising the bar on the standard of care.
The staff at Noank-Mystic Veterinary Hospital is committed to providing pets and pet owners the finest veterinary care possible in the greater Norwich area. We want to become known as a welcoming, skilled and cost-conscious partner in the care of your beloved companions. While we primarily see dogs and cats, we also treat exotic pets, including various avian species and waterfowl, rodents, pocket pets, rabbits, reptiles and others.
Dr. Christopher Otka said that becoming a veterinarian was a "natural choice." While growing up in Ashford, CT, he always owned exotic animals and was exposed to wildlife. It followed that he would want to go into a profession where he could help animals as much as possible. Dr. Otka and his wife purchased Noank-Mystic Veterinary Hospital in January of 2012.
Hospital Administrator Deborah Otka holds a Doctor of Pharmacy and has more than 14 years of experience in pharmacy, patient care and customer services. Her background will be invaluable in assisting our clients and ensuring that Noank-Mystic Veterinary Hospital becomes the model of veterinary care in our area.
Prevention is the key to your pet's long term health. Dr. Christopher Otka and the medical staff at Noank-Mystic Veterinary Hospital recommend that your pet receives a complete wellness examination at least once a year, but more frequent exams are encouraged.
During wellness exams, we perform a complete physical and recommend a heartworm test, fecal flotation test for intestinal parasites, and a red blood cell count to detect anemia (decrease in the number of red blood cells) that can indicate the presence of a number of disease processes. To keep your pet parasite free, we also recommend preventive medication for heartworms, fleas and ticks.

My cat had an emergency while I was visiting my parents in Mystic, too far away from her usual vet. They snuck in an appointment for her extremely last minute. The care she got was extremely comprehensive, everything was very well explained, and everyone was super kind. I'm really grateful!

Dr. Otka, Anmarie, and Natasha (whom we miss terribly) are simply the BEST there is. We wouldn't recommend any on else for bunny care. Our sweet Hammy went into GI stasis and after barely being kept alive at an emergency vet, we followed up next day with Dr. Otka and he immediately went into action. Between him, Anmarie, and Natasha, Hammy was able to enjoy another week with us here. Unfortunately the GI Stasis never was fully resolved, but Dr. Otka came in on his day off to help him cross the bridge by our side, along with Anmarie. I can't imagine anyone else taking care of our buns 💜

Recently had a first visit to establish care for our middle-aged Amazon. We chose this particular establishment based on previous reviews and a phone call to the location, despite some negative reviews. The entire staff was extremely professional and courteous. The bill was clearly laid out for us to see, including any other services and medications for us to choose. Recommendations were clear and concise based on what was known. Additional testing was recommended to establish more factual information to better treat my little girl in the future with pricing clearly shown on paper. I've never had

Love Dr Otka and his staff. I'm so glad the other Dr is gone. She wasn't really the nicest and I always tried to schedule appointments with Dr. Otka instead. He takes his time with all my questions I have. I never feel rushed and his calm demeanor is very helpful. The clinic cats are also a plus for nervous people like myself. Pan and Showbie (?) are quite something. His staff is always so pleasent and appear to enjoy working for him. Must be a nice place to work. Very responsive to new pet owners like myself.

First visit here, we saw Dr. Donahue and I could not be more impressed! Gizmo is a rescue pekingese with a history of severe abuse and neglect so is understandably fearful and not very trusting of new people and settings. Dr. Donahue was very patient and compassionate and had gained his trust faster than I have ever seen! So glad we found this practice!!

My 11 month old golden retriever I just recently adopted has aggressive issues and I was very nervous with bringing him to the Vet for the first time. My dog Rowley is a very skittish pup, really anything scares him. However here at Noank-mystic vet, they made everything extremely comfortable to the point where I could tell my dog didn’t mind being there. The Veterinarian even asked me if they could remove the muzzle before they gave him shots 😳
Rowley got a few shots with his muzzle off and didn’t growl or try and bite anyone. He was very comfortable by the way they handled him there.
