Services
Old Lyme Veterinary Hospital is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required.
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, Old Lyme Veterinary Hospital stresses the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
Veterinary Technicians are a vital part of the Old Lyme Veterinary Hospital's culture. We rely on their expertise every day, and each one of our technicians is equally talented at their individual specialties, including dentistry, inventory, nutrition, and training. Jennifer is a Certified Dental Technician, Certified Fear Free, a Certified Bereavement Counselor, and a Reiki Master.
Surveillance screening means bringing your pet in for regular, routine examinations, regardless of whether they are ill. So, if your pet isn't ill, why are surveillance screenings important? Firstly, our pets can't speak. They cannot tell us if they feel unwell or have any other indicators of internal illness.
Many people have questions about various aspects of their pet's surgery, and we hope this information will help. It also explains some of the decisions you will need to make before your pet's upcoming surgery. Today's modern anesthetic monitors have made surgery much safer than in the past.
Here at Old Lyme Veterinary Hospital, we do a thorough physical exam on your pet before administering anesthetics, to ensure that a fever or other illness won't be a problem. We also adjust the amount and type of anesthetic used depending on the health of your pet. The handout on anesthesia explains this in greater detail.

I absolutely love Old Lyme Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Neil, Jenn and his staff. Enzo loves visiting them at the vet. This past Friday we found a lump under Enzo's neck and were very concerned as he is only… 10 months old and basically developed it over night. They know how crazy I am as a dog mom and even though they were completely over booked, they did not send us to the Emergency Vet Hospital to wait in our car for hours. They allowed us to drop off Enzo, and they looked at him in between patients. He ended up needing to be operated on. The entire process they called us and kept us informed

Our dog Pebbles was hit by a car. We showed up after they were closed. The staff was on their way out for the day. They saw us coming, and raced inside to help. Their actions saved her life, she would have died… from shock. The entire staff is always compassionate and caring with their patients and their human owners. thank you old Lyme vet! Snyder's
