Our firm's attorneys focus their practice on two legal practice areas: family law and criminal defense, which includes defense of traffic violations. A resident of Northern Virginia for over 30 years, Mr. Schmergel holds a genuine concern for the legal matters that affect the members of his community, and he devotes his practice to helping families throughout the Northern Virginia jurisdictions of Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax, Prince William and Loudoun, as well as Washington, D.C., with all of their complex and emotional legal challenges.

Dennis M. Mersberger co-founded Schmergel & Mersberger, PLC in 2004 with a special interest in providing top notch criminal defense representation. He hails from the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area, but has made Alexandria, Virginia his home. Mr. Mersberger focuses his work almost exclusively on criminal trials and criminal appeals in the state and federal courts.
