We got carry-out, but the place was hopping when I went to pick up the food. I got the veggie combo with a side of guacamole, and my husband got the combo #1. I really liked my veggie burrito--lots of jalapeño slices and very flavorful. My cheese enchilada was a little bland, but the guacamole was very good. My husband says his was "fine." I would definitely like to eat in sometime soon to get the full experience and to try more dishes.

The Good:
We were seated immediately and the waitress was pleasant. My wife and I were immediately given delicious chips and salsa and asked what we wanted to drink. The atmosphere was nice. The waitress was attentive and efficient, and the food was delicious. The agave nachos, were honestly my favorite part.
The Bad:
Now, the reason why I did not give this place 5 stars is because the food was just warmish. It was weird. It kind of felt like the food was cooked and then just left out to cool for some reason. My wife complained of the same thing.
The Judgment:
Ultimately, I would definitely

Second time here and I’m afraid this is going to become a habit 😁. This time I got the quesadilla which my daughter loved and 🌮 🌮. If I had to rank the 🌮 🌮 it would be barbacoa (perfect), chorizo, 7/10 then Al pastore 5/10 & (a bit chewy). The service at the bar was very good as was the drink I had while I was waiting for my order. El Agave is definitely a place worth frequenting👌

Menu clearly doesn’t reflect the prices! With the extra 2.00 lime and extra 2.00 spicy charge and the additional charge for tacos that are clearly stated on the taco Tuesday menu it did not reflect on the bill! Poor poor customer service. Could not speak to management or anyone that would at least comp the guac! Awful customer service! Don’t get the steak it’s not 9.99! No bueno!

The tacos are a bit expensive but totally worth the price. These are really flavor tacos. The downfall, my orders are not complete. I did not get the salsa that came with the barbacoa tacos, nor did I get pico de gallo on my carne asada tacos like I asked. Although the food is exceptional, I do not like incomplete dishes. Last thing, please make sure to provide napkins on to-go orders

Tried El Agave because we ordered food across the street, had to wait 30 minutes for our order while hungry, so... why not.
I left happy. The food was fresh and piping hot. They were able to make great accommodations to the menu for my pescatarian needs. My husband loved the lamb barria taco.
Definitely would come back when in the area.

Yes, it's a hole in the wall. A dive. A shabby shack off of Ingleside Ave., in a business district that's seen better days. (Any old heads remember Garland's gardens?-well it's next to their old bones.). But the food? If you like the taste of real Mexican, you should definitely try. I had heard good things. But when hubby and I pulled up to the run down joint, I hesitated. Maybe we should just get carry out?
But we pressed on. Inside wasn't quite as bad. There are tables and booths. They are spacing folks out due to COVID. Sizeable bar up front. We sat inside, though

El Agave has been my favorite place for the past 3 years since I turned 21. I’ve never had a bad experience here and the food and drinks are always amazing and the portions are well worth the price. I never… seem to leave with left overs even though the portions are huge! The food is amazing the drinks are amazing (especially the strawberry on the rocks margarita) and I’m so happy to have such a great restaurant in the Catonsville area!

I don't know what they do with their chicken but I prefer it over their carne asada tacos. Their taquitos, chimis, flautas, fajitas are all AMAZING for take out.
For dine-in I'd do their tacos. Their chicken is so savory, juicy, and just amazing and it never hurts my sensitive belly like other mexican has. They are super friendly and since take-out is an option, its SO fast to pick up!!
I have enjoyed this location before and during quarantine and I hope to support them a lot so they remain open.
Thank you staff at El Guave! You never disappoint.

Contrary to my original review, where I stated "we'll likely not be back" due to the poor service and some food issues, we've been back for carryout several times recently. Surprisingly, it was at my wife's insistence, even though she had the worse experience during our first visit.
Nearly all of the food has been pretty good each time, but there are still some issues with consistency of portion sizes and preparation. The chorizo queso on our most recent order came in a small, half-full cup, and had burnt chorizo at the bottom. Everything else about that order was excellent

This is small Mexican place close to where we live that we go to every so often. The menu is on the smaller side which keeps it simple if you have people that have a rough time making up their minds on what they want to eat. It's not as fancy as some of our other Mexican haunts, but the food is good and it's tidy inside. The service can be hit or miss, but that's more because there have usually only been one or two servers for the whole restaurant and I'm thinking the kitchen is really not that large, given the size of the restaurant. Drinks are good and the prices don&apos

This was very average at best. Their menu also says they use Jack Daniels BBQ sauce on some items but we were told that it changes from week to week?! We didn't want JD sauce but that seemed weird. The salsa was pretty good, but spicier than most that you get for free (but that's not a negative). The chips were just okay. The salsa is served in a tortilla bowl which is neat, but unnecessary.
I got the tacos, which said they were award-winning, but I couldn't tell what for!
Service was very good, so there is that!
If you are in the area there isn't much else in this regard

This is not my first rodeo here. This is a nice neighborhood Mexican Restaurant close to home.
We came here for Taco Tuesday's. Tacos are $2.50 each or $8.99 a platter with 3 Tacos with Rice and Beans. I got the Texas Tacos with pulled pork and my Husband got the Fish Tacos, both were delicious. Our server was polite and checked on us often. If you want Authentic Mexican food come to El Agave!
