The Sandpiper Lodging At The Beach
Sandpiper Lodging at the Beach is located in Stinson Beach, California, a charming little beach town, less than an hour north of San Francisco. We are a comfortable beach hotel along Highway 1 offering beach lodging, motel rooms, cabins, and kitchenettes. Steps away from the 3 miles long Stinson Beach. Our guests walk to hiking trails, restaurants, and shops. Our hotel is a short drive to Muir Woods, Bolinas, Mill Valley, and Point Reyes National Seashore. We are perfectly situated for numerous day trips.
Services
We have four standard queen rooms. Two downstairs with tile floors and two upstairs with carpet. All our queen rooms come with a queen bed, table, and chairs, T.V., mini-fridge, and coffee maker. Bathroom with shower and toiletries. We have two kitchenette rooms, both are upstairs rooms. There is a queen bed, table and chairs, and kitchen with a mini-fridge, microwave, sink, and cooktop.
We are surrounded by natural beauty and great outdoor activities, such as surfing, hiking, biking, and kayaking. We are about a 15 minute drive to Muir Woods, a magnificent Redwood forest and a 25 minute drive to the Point Reyes National Seashore. Stinson has several restaurants, a book store, a surf shop and art galleries all within walking distance from the Sandpiper.
Muir Woods National Monument is part of California's Golden Gate National Recreation Area, north of San Francisco. Walk among old growth coast redwoods, cooling their roots in the freshwater of Redwood Creek and lifting their crowns to reach the sun and fog. Federally protected as a National Monument since 1908, this primeval forest is both refuge and laboratory, revealing our relationship with the living landscape.
Rising up from Stinson Beach, Mount Tamalpais State Park majestically rests in the heart of Marin County. Its deep canyons and sweeping hillsides are cloaked with cool redwood forests, oak woodlands, open grasslands, and sturdy chaparral. The breathtaking panorama from Mount Tamalpais's 2,571-foot peak includes the Farallon Islands 25 miles out to sea, the Marin County hills, San Francisco Bay, the East Bay, and Mount Diablo.

I absolutely fell in love with this place! We were welcomed so warmly by the owners and their dog, Jack. The cabin was perfect! It was so clean and comfortable. It had everything you need! A separate bedroom, a kitchen with full sized appliances, dishes and cookware, a small eating area and large bathroom. If I could live here I would! The beach is a very short 3 minutes walk, and you can hear the roar of the ocean lull you to sleep at night! The restaurants in town were fantastic, but we really loved the Parkside Cafe! There is a general store as well where we shopped for groceries to make a couple

Everything you need is within walking distance. The beach is not even a 5 minute walk and they have 3 incredible restaurants nearby. Room was cute, quaint, and very clean!
You can choose a movie from their movie library so you can relax in the room during your stay. They have a garden and can also use the beach accessories. Parking is immediately outside of the lodge and reserved only for occupants, so there's no worries about where to park.
Their cute dog is also there to greet you! Very courteous and friendly staff, I honestly can't wait to go back.

Sandpiper is now on a short list of places I will make excuses to visit again. The location is as good as it gets for a normal hotel at a norcal beach. The owner and staff are awesome people. They accommodated last minute needs for us when they didnt need to. I really appreciate their personal touch and friendliness. We stayed in a lower floor room and heard no noise in a near full hotel other than the ocean at night. I slept like a baby with the comfortable bed and fire place in our room.
The property is small but nice, the room was impeccably clean and was very nicely appointed. The 2 star hotel

My wife and I have started her twice and we love it.
Thoughtfully decorated, great landscaping where there is a great outdoor area, comfortable beds, very clean and excellent ownership and workers!
30 second walk to the cafe, restaurants and market also to cross the walking bride to the parking lot where the beach access is.
Highly recommend.

A prime location to stay so you can enjoy the beach. Rooms are clean and you have a choice of cottages or single rooms. Located within walking distance of a restaurant and market. DVD library has been suspended because of the pandemic, but hopefully will return soon.
