Between the shady billing practices and a terrible therapist.. I would not recommend this place to anyone who is looking to better themselves. I did a total of 3 sessions. Dr. Cornell was bored and yawned the whole time at all three sessions. He gave terrible advice and wanted me to avoid the issues I was having vs learning how to cope and deal with them. Then let’s add in the fact that as I am literally walking into session 3, the receptionist informs me that my insurance won’t be covering my sessions. When I called to talk to billing, I should have been informed about the insurance issue

I typically wouldn't write about therapy, but after seeing a negative review I felt I should talk about my experience so others can know the difference it has had on me. Dr. Higgins helped me through one of the hardest times in my life, my divorce. I never got the impression that she was after my money and considering the fact I would call her three times a day at times, I'm surprised she never sent me an extra bill. I continue to see Dr. Higgins regularly and I've never had this issue, but I know it is case by case. I'm so grateful for the work Dr. Higgins has done in my life and the fact that

Dr. Higgins and her team display emotionless, inauthentic consideration for clients. Money and payment is the first and foremost driving force of The Joy and Wellness Center. Dr. Higgins informed me, after the first visit, "when you return, I will have a bunch of literature for you" I'm able to find my own "literature", I was looking for some emotional support. Very dissappointed.
