Chinese fire cupping is an ancient technique that involves placing heated cups over the skin, typically on the back. The placement of cups on specific acupuncture points helps the body in several ways. Unlike massage, which uses a pressing motion, the benefit of cupping is in the suction that occurs to the skin.
Most people barely feel a thing when needles are inserted. Some people feel a slight pinch, and others ask "Is it in yet?" The reason acupuncture needles don't give the painful sensation you might expect is because they're very, very thin in comparison to the hypodermic needles used to give injections.

What led me to try acupuncture with Dr. Goldstein was my knee pain. I found Dr. Goldstein in my medical plan and made the appointment. After answering a thorough questionnaire and having the consultation, I had my first session.
The doctor pinpointed three situations that needed adjustment in the knee. I felt immediate measurable relief in one area of the knee after having that adjustment. In subsequent appointments, the doctor will listen to what is improving and what is still in need of correction. From there, he pinpoints those target weaknesses. It is fascinating

My wife and I have been seeing Joshua for the past 5 years. During that time we have found Joshua to be incredibly knowledgeable, intuitive and extremely professional. He begins each session asking for updates on our current situation healthwise, sleepwise, moodwise, etc. He then takes that information and determines where he should insert the needles to best improve how we are feeling. I went to Josh Goldstein for a back issue which he quickly resolved. I was convinced it was caused by stress. We discussed working on stress and
anxiety, which I was not aware acupuncture could target. With a combination of treatment, and herbs the results have been really wonderful.

I have been going to Joshua for over 15 years. He has helped me with shoulder issues, where I have not been able to move my shoulder over my head. Carpel Tunnel syndrome in both wrists. Issues with my lower back when I couldn't bend. My side where regular doctors weren't able to diagnose for 2 years. Recently stress, where he opens up my heart and I relax so much, it is probably the best 1 hour sleep I get all week. I am so relaxed. I now go for tune-ups once a month. I have never had acupuncture but I just could not relieve my shoulder and neck pain. I decided to try this center due to the nearby location and because of the positive reviews. Joshua is an exceptional and compassionate person with a great degree of knowledge that he is quick to share. For the first time in years I am free of this pain and I will continue my visits any time I experience discomfort. I started going to Joshua Goldstein about 5 years ago because of pain and stiffness in my hips and low back, but I've continued going to him to maintain my well-being because of his acupuncture skill and deep breadth of knowledge about Chinese herbs, vitamins, and other Eastern/holistic treatments. I had been to other acupuncturists before I found Josh. I started seeing him about a year and a half ago and can not tell you how much better I feel! He takes the time to talk to you first each time you come to assess what is happening and makes the necessary changes in your needles to achieve the best results! Clean, quiet, low key atmosphere. Josh is an excellent healer and has superior knowledge in Traditional Chinese Medicine. He customizes treatment for the individual. He spends time and gets to know you and address any health issue accordingly. He is thoroughly professional and so caring. His treatments do are based on research and knowledge.
