Fibromyalgia is condition that creates widespread musculoskeletal pain. Fibromyalgia can also cause a person to have fatigue, altered sleep, memory and mood issues. People that suffer from fibromyalgia have an enhanced sensation of pain because of the way the brain and spinal cord process the pain signals traveling through them.
When performing cosmetic acupuncture, the insertion of the tiny, thin needles creates a microtrauma, which forces the area of skin to heal itself. This is almost like having a cut, where the immune system heals it naturally. This healing process stimulates the proteins, collagen and elastin, which tighten the face while filling in fine lines & wrinkles.
Acupuncture has been proven to be safe in all stages of pregnancy. There are however certain points that you would want to avoid during pregnancy entirely and then there are different points/ areas that you would want to avoid or needle differently during the different terms of pregnancy. The acupuncture points that we avoid all together in Chinese medicine are called the "Forbidden Points".

I am so very grateful to have found Pete. I have suffered with fibromyalgia, chronic Lyme, TMJ and MCAS. Within the first few appointments I already noticed improvements with some of my symptoms. At each appointment Pete genuinely listens to my concerns and any new symptoms and adjusts treatments accordingly. We have used a combination of electro accupuncture, dry needling and cupping, all of which have been a life saver. I would recommend him to anyone suffering and looking for relief.

Peter came highly recommended by my physical therapist! I was experiencing tightness in my neck. I felt as if my neck was jammed into my shoulders! Physical therapy helped a lot, but I felt as if I needed something more!

Amazinggggg experience so far at DeCicco Acupuncture. From the cleanliness to the decor of the office, to the receptionists and provider. Everyone is so nice and welcoming, they make having needles in you feel surprisingly relaxing lol. Peter is so gentle and I feel he genuinely cares. Only 2 sessions in and I feel a significant difference in my complaints so far. Looking forward to continuing treatments with the hopes of feeling better each and every day! Back in the beginning of May I woke up one day and the whole left side of my face had no movement! I am 34 years old and the next day was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy. My sister did some research for me and learned that acupuncture has had great success. We immediately reached out to Pete at DeCicco Acupuncture. I was so freaked out that I would never get movement back in my face. After only my first two sessions with Pete we started to notice at least 85% movement back. After going to various neurologists who have been totally unhelpful, I decided to try acupuncture with Peter DeCicco.
I had low expectations because of poor experience at another acupuncturist years ago , but I had fantastic results in only a few visits. WOW!
My pain has reduced drastically & my medications have become almost unnecessary.

I started with Peter because I had chronic muscle aches and fatigue from fibromyalgia. This created down mood swings as well. Peter listened to what I had to say and showed tremendous empathy. He explained the different reasons why my body responded the way it did. In the first weeks that Peter worked on me I was able to pinpoint the exact areas that slowed me down. My entire experience was wonderful. Every aspect of my treatment was positive. The office is clean and inviting. Every patient has their own private treatment room. Pete has both the clinical knowledge and skills as well as a friendly bedside manner. His office assistant Michelle is just as accommodating and professional. I was diagnosed and treated for biceps tendonitis in my dominant arm. I could barely move my arm and had terrible pain. Pete diagnosed me with confidence right away. Personality means everything, and Pete DeCicco has one of the best. The second you walk into his office (which is calm, relaxing, and nicely decorated), you know that you matter and that you are cared about. He takes the time to listen to your concerns and works with you to create the best treatment plan for your condition.
I visited Pete three years ago for pain caused by a nerve entrapment in my heel. I was told it could only be fixed by surgery and that only two doctors in the country could perform that surgery.

After driving 11 hours in a car, I was limited with unbearable back pain. My acupuncturist, Peter De Cicco was very knowledgable and relieved all my ailments! Now I'm ready to drive 11 hours home.
