We ordered a chicken tikka masala and a butter chicken. Both had the most watery curry broths we've ever seen. The tikka masala had an intense vinegar flavor to it, and the butter chicken was extremely salty. We were unable to eat more than a few bites of either. Very disappointing for $14 curry dishes.

I was seeing if I can give “0” stars for this place. We wanted to try a new place and went there upon reading the existing reviews but looks like the management has changed. It was the worst food and customer service I have experienced after many years. They took so long to make “1” chicken and “1” mutton dishes that they recommended and upon service it tasted like some ready to cook tasteless food. Please don’t waste money on this place. Later we had to go to Desi District to reset our sense of taste

Food could have been better..
I ordered these items for a pickup.
Chicken biryani
Chicken curry
Chicken 65
The Chicken biryani hardly had any Chicken in it. Just 2 small pieces of chicken. I see a similar complaint from others as well in their reviews.
The chicken 65 was too oily.
The chicken curry was below par as well.
NOTE - This place smells of CIGAR smoke. Next door is a Cigar shop and the ventilation is shared between the restaurant and the Cigar shop. So, if you are a non smoker, dining there is not an option.
I am surprised how bad ventilation is not a factor in deciding the sanitary

We love the customer service, people and food. Me and my husband just walked pass by and thought of trying something. We ordered plate of samosa, they said they can do samosa chat if we like complimentary. It was one of the best samosa chat we had. We will surely go to try other items on menu. People were were friendly and always smiling.

Casual atmosphere, inexpensive to mederat price, simple menu & good quality food with a mouthful of taste, this is what I think Charminar represent. If we have to categorize Desi / Indian / Pakistani restaurants located in our City, this will be one of the best, if not the top shelf restaurants of Frisco. Do visit and try Dal fry, my favorite.

The worst food experience was yesterday the Sep 1. Hope I don’t get to taste such aweful food again. With the google reviews I got totally impressed to try this restaurant but it’s the bad decision I ever made on a tiring day.
We ordered the below items
Dum ka chicken: salty oily spicy red colored chicken
Planner tikka masala: over powered by raw chilly taste with red colored paneer.
Lachcha paratha: come on guys, I can get those frozen parathas from Indian stores why would we order from restaurant
Naan: seriously it wasn’t Naan it was a flat bun.
Romali roti: thank god I have had best

The food was not so great! We ordered Hyderabad Tea, samosa plate and mutton biryani. The tea was fresh and tasty and samosa also delicious but coming biryani it’s tasteless and it has only 2 pieces of meat and rice was tasteless. I may step in for tea here but not for any biryanis.

Food was amazing! Definitely not your standard type of Indian food you find around here. I had the Pathar Ka Gosht, mutton biryani, and Dum Ka Chicken. The Pathar Ka Gosht tasted very similar to the one I've had in Hyderabad recently. Biryani was really good! And the Dum Ka Chicken was something different that most places don't have in the DFW area.
We ordered takeout, so can't say much about the service, but the guy we ordered with was very friendly and offered some chai while I was waiting. The food took longer than expected to be ready, but overall was a good experience.

I have tried three times to call in an order for pick up. Each time they were out of the dish. How can a restaurant post a menu but never have their item available? There are many other options in Frisco.

Hands down the best Indian restaurant in Frisco. Went there for dinner with my wife tonight and left very satisfied.
We ordered Lukhmi and tomato soup to start with. And next was chicken tikka masala (probably the best I e ever had) and khati dal with lacha parathas. Everything tasted fresh and wonderful. The nice owner came to say hi -- and he let us try his complimentary kheer desert, which was a very nice ending to our wonderful meal.
Highly recommended!!

I went to this restaurant for lunch buffet. This indian restaurant is completely different from others. Very unique variety of food. I went to most of the indian restaurant in plano , frisco, irving area but i never had this variety of food anywhere in lunch buffet. I am quoting that in lunch buffet not alcarte.

Taste - 4 out of 5
Hospitality- 4 out of 5
Buffet arrangement- 2 out of 5 ( very difficult to access their food vessels. They need to change that.)

We saw fly inside the restaurant k never saw that in any other restaurant. That the reason I am giving 3 star.

Excellent food and superb service! Always enjoy eating here...the food is consistently fresh and on point. I would say the Chicken 65, Biryani with mirchi ka saalan and Haleem are the best. Keep it up!

Went for eid buffet here. DISAPPOINTED. oily biryani with zero flavor, just like other items. TASTELESS.

It was as if they boiled the rice and deep fried it in a ton of oil.

Food back home, around the monument charminar, tastes wayyyyyy better. Dont know what gave this restaurant confidence that they could name themselves "charminar cafe".

That name carries a lot of heritage. This is not how one should honor it.

To get a taste of signature dishes and regular food, I tried lunch buffets at Charminar cafe. The food options were very different than other Indian restaurants. Food was not at all spicy but good in taste. They offer soft drinks/tea as an additional included item. Liked the pasta, lacha paratha, egg curry, halwa puri, fish fry, chicken roll and few other items. Goat nalli soup and mutton paya was quite different. However the weekend buffet for $14.99 was super expensive. Another disappointment was sweet dishes, like jalebi, kheer, and gajar halwa that were super dry. Ambience is good, so are the
