Mhala Integrated Service Center LB
For nearly 100 years, we have led the charge in mental health service innovation, training, and advocacy. MHALA's Transition Age Youth program helps young adults ages 18-25 with mental health needs and emotional disturbances, and who are homeless or nearly homeless, to fully integrate into the community.

Our wellness services include workshops or individual counseling to help members develop or augment skills in areas such as communication, financial management, stress management, or daily living skills. We believe that Veterans and their families deserve a coordinated effort to feel secure and stable.
Services
Mental Health America of Los Angeles works to ensure that people with mental health needs achieve meaningful, healthy lives in their communities. We serve adults and transition-age youth who are facing mental health needs and do not have financial resources, including Veterans and people who are or have been homeless.
The social support we get from. On this momentous day when justice was served in the George Floyd trial, after so many times when it was not, MHALA doubles down in our efforts to bring equity and justice to all people. Violence, racism and injustice damage the mental health of all of our communities.
Mental Health America of Los Angeles was born out of the advocacy of "mental health consumers" (i.e., people who access mental health services, who we refer to as "members" today). There have been several waves of advocacy by those who were diagnosed with and treated for mental illnesses, often in inhumane conditions.
Join one of the largest nonprofit mental health teams in the U.S. When you join Mental Health America of Los Angeles, you'll become part of a group of dedicated professionals committed to improving the lives of people across L.A. County. You'll also join a tight-knit team that prides itself on compassion, collaboration, and a steadfast dedication to those we serve.
MHALA's Outreach teams connect with individuals throughout LA County who are living on the streets, parks, and other public spaces to establish relationships that can lead to resolving housing, mental health, and other issues. These interdisciplinary teams include outreach specialists, nurses, social workers, substance abuse counselors, and people with lived experience - some who once sought help from MHALA.
