I wanted to pick up banjo again after a long hiatus, and after an introductory phone conversation Hey Joe was able to match me with the perfect teacher. Marco is great at teaching both the instrument and music theory in a way that each informs the other. With his teaching, I've developed a roster of songs in different styles and my playing has drastically improved over time.
I really appreciate the service Hey Joe provides, and would recommend it to anyone looking to either pick up an instrument from scratch or continue developing their skills.

My kids (now 9 & 11) have been taking from HJG for a couple of years now. One takes piano, the other takes guitar. Recently, we transitioned to online lessons due to the COVID-19 quarantine, and amazingly, my kids are just as enthusiastic about their lessons as ever. They are learning at the same rate and their instructors manage to maintain their attention throughout every session. We've tried other instructors in the past, but none have been as much fun, engaging, and educational as HJG. Cannot more highly recommend for kids - online or in-person!!!

What's better than sheepishly attending music classes with others watching your every move? Being able to take lessons from the comfort of your own home. I didn't even know that it was an affordable option. I've spoken directly with Joe Berger and am impressed by his knowledge and how selective he is with choosing instructors and finding the instrument of best fit. I always thought I'd enjoy learning an instrument but discovered, I would focus on voice.

My friends who have children and live in New York have used Hey Joe Guitar to link up with professional and affordable music teachers - who come to their home.
Joe Berger, Hey Joe Guitar's director took a personal interest in making sure that they had a positive experience. If you are looking for a high quality music teacher for your child, you owe it to yourself to call Hey Joe Guitar and speak with Joe directly. Joe has decades of experience as a music educator and will provide you with top flight personal attention.
Whether or not you end up using his school, if you are interested

We had a terrible experience with Hey Joe Guitar.
After some individual lessons with a young guitar teacher, we signed up for a monthly service which we had to pay a month in advance. But soon, the teacher started missing lessons, coming late and canceling at the last minute. My son would constantly ask us "why is the teacher late?" or "why is he not coming?' It was very sad.
After we complained about the situation, Hey Joe sent us a different teacher, but he too started to have erratic schedule because of his music gigs and other group classes he taught. Ultimately, he
