Mike who was raised in Ft Walton Beach, Florida went to work for McLaughlin Mortuary in 1974. He had to resign a bank job in order to attend the funeral of his grandfather and when Maurice McLaughlin heard, he offered Mike a job. At this point Mike realized he had found his calling. After graduating from Gupton Jones School of Mortuary Science, Atlanta, in 1977, Mike returned to McLaughlin.

This is the most unprofessional rude incompetent untruthful place that I have ever dealt with in my life. I was misinformed on the time of services and when my customer called she was also misinformed and spoken to by a rude person named candence. When there is a death in the family, respect and comfort should be given to all family members but instead they were screamed and hollered at during this time of mourning. I would not recommend this funeral home and their unprofessionalism to anyone.

I am very disappointed in this funeral home, it’s owners, and service. I would advise avoiding this place.
My low rating is completely due to the unprofessional, rude, and hostile funeral director/owner and co-owner, his wife. While they were not responsible for the highly emotional and unreasonable actions of family members, they escalated the situation by causing an unnecessary scene, raising their voices to the point of yelling, and slamming doors in the faces of family.
Funeral directors and staff should be professional. They should understand emotions are high after someone’s passing

Our family could not have been happier. I had some doubts choosing a location that was outside Orlando, but the people I worked with and their obvious experience made it easy (they were in Orlando any time we needed them including a few hours after my initial call to transport my father).
