Services
I have been in the dental field since 2007 starting out at the Maui Oral Health center and then furthering my career in private dental offices, oral surgery and now here at Smile Hawaii. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my other half Stephen, our 2 dogs, our cat and Jackson Chameleons. I also love going to Alaska to go fishing in the summer and cooking!
Lance Ogata was born in Southern California and raised in the suburb of Monterey Park where he played in organized youth baseball and basketball (CYC) leagues. In 1979, he earned the rank of "Eagle Scout" in Koyasan Boy Scout Troop 379, Boy Scouts of America. In 1981, Lance embarked on his training in the dental profession as a chairside assistant for the dental practice of Drs.

I love Dr. Ogata and his staff. My family and I have had our dental health tended to for over 15 years. They are highly skilled professionals, caring, and considerate providing a safe environment for their patients. They have even gone overboard to provide safe care during covid 19. Dr. Ogata and his staff also tend to have a great sense of humor which helps make a dental visit enjoyable. Highly recommended!

They got me in next business day.
The fixed me up. And OMG... the hygienist did such an amazing job..
The whole staff was GREAT... I really do appreciate such service. It made me feel so comfortable, opposed to my last Dentist.....but that is a differant review for sure..

From the first time I saw Dr. Ogata in 2014, I was blown away by the staff, the attention to detail, the communication and quality with everything they did. I immediately trusted them and was comforted by them after what seemed like a tragic tooth incident for me. The results they provided were unmatched, and still to this day, many years later, they uphold that level of quality, customer service, and beautiful & attentive care. I couldn't be more grateful and couldn't recommend their office enough!

My experience with Dr. Ogata and his friendly, very professional and compassionate staff is one of truly caring about my comfort while in the dental chair and delivering excellent quality results on every single visit. We've been visiting Dr. Ogata for almost 15 years now. Dr. O is very skilled, keeps up to date on continuing education, and is always conservative and willing to wait and watch until a procedure is truly necessary. You can tell a lot about a professional by their support team - and the Smile Hawaii team, led by Anela, is always competent and kind. Also, props to the new hygienist Maria; she does a great job with a great attitude, so she fits right in.

Today was my first appointment and I was very pleased with everything. Starting with the most lovely lady at the front desk, she is very sweet and helpful. The Dr’s assistant is very professional and efficient. She showed me around the office, and i was impressed with the quality of all technologies they use there. Dr Ogata is very accessible and super nice. He explained everything about our short term goals, making an immediate plan of action for my concernsand his recommendations were in line with what I believed too we should do. Dr. Ogata and his staff were so amazing to me when I came in with a dental emergency! It was my first time walking into his office and they all treated me as if I had been a long time patient with care and understanding. I generally have anxiety at the dentists office but Dr. Ogata and his assistant created a perfect blend of confidence, assurance and light humor to the room leaving me feeling so relaxed in a dental chair ! And that is a big deal for me! I now actually look forward to going back to a next appointment! Mahalo!
