Graduating with honors in 1987, Dr. Michael Miyamoto earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in Maryland. As a student there, Dr. Mike was selected for inclusion in Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society where qualifications for this honor limited enrollment to the top 15% of the class.

Dr. Mike is one of a kind.He's professional, knowlegable and friendly. I drove 30 minutes one way for my appointments with him, I don't do this for anyone else. I am sure there are great dentist in my area, but I will gladly do to Wailuku just for a dental cleaning.
His staff is amazing. I like going to a place where everyone knows your name (and not from your chart). I highly recommend visiting Miyamoto Dental.

Horrible front desk staff. I have never experienced such unprofessional behavior from and professional, or otherwise, service. I made an appointment more than a half of a week in advance, as is common knowledge, one needs to work appointments into his/her life. For example, you make an appointment and adjust your work schedule, find a babysitter, clear plans, etc. I did this and received a confirmation email. I even asked for the patient forms over email so I could be courteous and efficient on what little time a busy working mom has by having the forms completed so that I could turn them in complete

Dr. Mike was my dentist for years and I was always very pleased. The gentle pain free cleaning I received there over 10 years ago won me over as a patient. I would still be a patient, but my insurance changed to Aloha Care/Liberty Dental and they do not accept that insurance. When I left they had also just changed their payment system to you pay the entire amount and are then reimbursed by insurance. If I could afford it, I feel like it's worth it to go here!

Believe me, dental work not high on my list. Having said that, had an awesome experience today at Dr Micheal Miyamotos office. Crown for aging filling, no pain no drama, just a very pleasent procedure. Dr. Mike designed, and fitted a perfect duplicate of my old tooth. Knocked it out in about 2.5 hours, most of the time spent milling then baking the new porcelain crown. Eveb the tingly post op numbness is not an issue. Kudos to you and your great staff!

My husband and I were patients for almost 2 years. For the most part we enjoyed coming here. The staff was always friendly, but we did feel like we were pressured to pick the most expensive options for procedures that needed to be done or do pressured to do expensive elective procedures that weren't necessary and not covered by insurance. My husband had to get a filling and instead of explaining his different options and prices(gold, silver or porcelain, I believe) they just went ahead with the most expensive option and left him to find out when he went to pay that porcelain wasn't covered

Highly recommend! Very gentle, thorough, informative, professional and patient. I've always been in awe that Dr. Mike is able to give completely pain-free injections without any topical anesthetic or gas. His cosmetic dentistry skills are top notch. And Dr. Alan, the hygienists and the rest of the staff are great too! They even have costume contests during the holidays ...which can be pretty entertaining. All in all, this is a great team. Dr. Mike Miyamoto is the best, most thorough dentist on Maui. I live in Cali now and cannot find a better or matching dentist to him. My whole family on Maui goes to him now and he has helped them tremendously. Esp. my dad who has really really bad teeth. He is getting him to floss! I wish I could clone him and bring him to long beach, ca! The other thing I like about him is that he keeps on learning about new, improved techniques and keeps educating himself. That is very important to have in a dentist. He is a little pricey but it is definitely 100% worth it.
